About

I am a native of Durham County. I grew up in the Durham Public School system and was an athlete in middle school and high school. I played softball and participated in Northern High Schools first fast pitch softball team. Go Lady Knights! I married my high school sweetheart and we have two awesome kids. We also have a gaggle of pets....4 dogs, 2 horses and a bunny. We love animals and support the Durham Animal Shelter. I love the law and especially family law. I've experienced the world family law as a parent so I know the heartaches that come with the process. I have also been a Guardian Ad Litem since 2004 for juvenile court and have expanded my coverage to private family law cases. My goal is to help families move through the process as painlessly as possible. I'm an advocate of therapy in the family law process when a case warrants it. I look forward to meeting you soon.

I needed an attorney for a difficult case, I met with Shelley and she let me know what to expect in court and what the judge might expect from me in this process. I was impressed with her tenacity and how hard she fought for me. If you need an attorney then I highly recommend her!

I have used Shelley in the past and I was very pleased. She is very personable and she "tells it like it is" which I absolutely loved. I have recommended her to others and they have all been pleased with her service.

I have had the pleasure of using Attorney Shelley Brown for quite some time. She is well balanced and straight forward in attaining your best outcome. She has a no nonsense get the job done ethic and is well suited to handle any situation. I would highly recommend her and her staff to anyone. In fact I have done so on several occasions and everyone has thanked me.

NOT-Trustworthy, shared important personal information with the other side. The personal trusting relationship between a trustworthy lawyer and client was absent most of the time. Felt at times after speaking with her a lot of guilt, because I needed her legal knowledge because of a broken marriage and abusive x-spouse. Attorneys get with each other and you are the point of their jokes..... I felt this way a lot. If I ever need another legal profession, I will most defiantly contact someone in another town (or State) - at least one that will be able to relate or had to endure the devastating legal position I find myself dealing with.
