I sought this lawyer out, specifically, believing I could trust him. From the very start, during the consultation, I explained to him my income, my husband's income and that I wanted to file bankruptcy, separately from my spouse. This went on for 10 months with me taking the On-Line Credit course, twice. I was consistently paying on the $1200, fee plus $325, court filing fee, plus two classes $20.00 each. He knew from the very beginning he would NOT be able to file , for me, without my spouse's income. He waited until I foolishly paid him in full and then he informed me, "my case would open a pandora's box" due to my spouse's income. He knew this from the start. I asked him to return, at least 80% of the 1525.00 dollars I gave him. Initially, he refused but then returned $750. He lied to me for no reason and robbed me of my trust in lawyers, my time, energy and lack of being helped. He could have been honest with me during the 1st and 2nd visit. So sad!
