About
Shawn is an Associate in Crumbley-Blackwell’s Civil Litigation and Domestic Services practice group.Prior to joining Crumbley-Blackwell & Associates, P.C., Shawn worked for a local plaintiffs firm focusing on complex civil litigation. Formerly, he served as a law clerk at one of the state’s largest plaintiffs firms which allowed him to gain invaluable experience. There he assisted clients of all sizes and types on a variety of matters, ranging from qui tam fraud to automobile class actions; and under Barry Matson, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the Alabama District Attorney’s Association. Additionally, he had several internships, including the Alabama Law Institute, where he was commended for his exemplary service during the 2019 Legislative Session.Shawn earned his J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, where he received multiple top papers, and was selected by the facility to serve as a Dean’s Fellow. He was also choosen to be the teaching assistant for Advanced Legal Research. Shawn also holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Alabama, College of Arts and Sciences. During his time in Tuscaloosa, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, serving on their scholarship committee and the Order of Omega Honor society. He routinely volunteered at Best Buddies and the Black Warrior Riverkeeper, NPO.He represents clients in civil litigation filed in state and federal courts from individual to class actions matters, while also helping clients navigate the bankruptcy process, and advising clients in the domestic relation field. Shawn is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section, the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the Huntsville Young Lawyers Section, and American Association of Justice. He is also admitted to practice in all state courts in Alabama and federal court for the Northern District of Alabama.
