Shata represents major corporations in complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts. She has experience working on a wide variety of legal issues, including data privacy, patent infringement, products liability, insurance coverage, and hazardous waste cleanup.Representative work includes defending major corporations in nationwide class actions alleging breach of data privacy obligations, defending a leading software developer and internet marketing company in a class action involving advertisements for counterfeit merchandise, defending a gaming company against allegations of patent infringement, and helping a company in the clinical research industry resolve a dispute over a software development contract.Before joining Riddell Williams, Shata served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Harriet Lansing, Minnesota Court of Appeals.
