About

Shannon N. Wiezorek has been a prominent criminal litigator in Southern California prior to partnering with her sister and opening Wiezorek & Geye. After graduating from Loyola Law School in 2004, she immediately joined the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office, where she had already worked as a law clerk for nearly two years. While working for the City of Long Beach, Ms. Wiezorek was awarded the Prosecutor of the Year. She also worked as the key prosecutor to the Domestic Violence Unit, and successfully tried over 20 cases before a jury. While at the City of Long Beach, Ms. Wiezorek conducted all phases of misdemeanor prosecution, from filings and arraignments to probation revocations and plea agreement negotiations. In 2007, Ms. Wiezorek became a Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles. During her time with the District Attorney’s Office, she worked in both trial courts and “drug courts.” She has paired with DUI enforcement officers and assisted in a Los Angeles County checkpoint, and she has been on numerous “ride-alongs.” She has worked with investigators, criminalists, and forensic toxicologists in preparing cases for the prosecution, and now she utilizes all of that knowledge in crafting defense strategies for her clients. Throughout the course of her career, she has proven to be a successful seasoned litigator in and out of the courtroom. After leaving prosecution behind, Ms. Wiezorek began practicing private criminal defense for a very busy mainly DUI defense firm. Ultimately she decided she could better serve her clients by opening her own firm. She also has experience working for civil firms specializing in elder abuse and general litigation. Shannon Wiezorek is a member of the National College for DUI Defense Lawyers and the California DUI Lawyers Association. She has also been qualified by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration to administer and to evaluate roadside field sobriety tests. Ms. Wiezorek graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999, and received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in May 2004. She was admitted to the California State Bar in November 2004.

In July of 2008, I was stopped and arrested for suspician of DUI in Los Angeles County. I had never been in trouble or arrested before so this was the first time I needed an attorney for anything. I was honestly terrified about what to do, but I knew I'd definitely need an attorney. In restrospect, I should have interviewed several attorneys before selecting one, because it's the smart thing to do, but I was scared and wanted to take action quickly. I connected a well-known DUI law firm on the internet, signed a retainer after an initial consultation, and then the firm assigned Shannon Wiezorek to my case. Probably not the best way to go about it, but that being said, I think I was lucky to have had Shannon Wiezorek working on my case. She was able to negotiate a really good plea deal for me in the legal phase of my case. Instead of DUI, I was able to plea to Exhibition of Speed and probation. I found out from others, who also went through the DUI process, that I was lucky to get that deal. Unfortunatey, I was not as lucky at my DMV hearing. We chose a strategy that was rejected by the hearing officer, but I understand that a vast majority of people do not succeed at the DMV. Overall, I think Shannon is knowlegable about DUI/DWI law and tried to do the best for me. She was also responsive to my inqueries during my case as well as afterward when I had follow-up questions. I am not sure if Shannon is still with the firm that I contacted, because the last time I checked their website, she was not listed as a member of their team of attorneys. She was in good standing with the California Bar Association at the time of my case, and per their website, I believe she still is. Based on my experience with her, I would recommed her services for a DUI/DWI case.

Shannon is not only knowledgeable concerning court room tactics and procedure but she is also dedicated to her clients no matter how tough the situation. She listens carefully to her clients needs and their concerns and responds with a level of empathy and tact that is rarely seen in this line of work. I was so grateful when she was assigned to my case and despite the circumstances there was never any doubt in my mind that she had my best interests at heart. She was my greatest advocate during the most difficult period in my life.

Ms. Wiezorek represented me in a few traffic cases. She really listened to my concerns and did a great job. The results she got were well above what I was expecting. I wouldn't hesitate to very highly recommend her to anyone with a criminal case.
