About

Senator “Austin” Ansingh earned his law degree from Seattle University School of Law. Seattle University has a strong commitment to educating its students on the values of social justice. Austin shares the values of social justice and the protection of individual rights, which led him down the path to becoming a criminal defense attorney. This commitment to justice motivates Austin to fight for his clients.Austin graduated from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a double major in Marketing and Finance. After graduation, Austin quickly realized that he had a desire to help people in a way that working in business field could not fulfill. His desire to fight for justice and to work directly with people and communities led him to law school. Austin chose Seattle University because of their commitment to social justice and his desire to practice in Washington State.During Law School, Austin worked as an intern for a private criminal defense attorney in Seattle. There he gained valuable criminal law experience. He conducted extensive legal research and drafted numerous motions relating to issues such as suppression of evidence, invalid search and seizures, invalid warrants, and more. Before becoming an attorney at Durflinger Oliver, Austin worked in Pierce County as a family law attorney. Through this practice he was able to further hone his skills in litigation, negotiations, legal research, and writing. These skills in addition to his keen analytical mind strengthened by years of rigorous legal research and writing make him formidable in negotiations and the courtroom. Austin’s pleasant demeanor, organization, and candor when evaluating and resolving cases make him popular with clients and court staff. When Austin isn’t in court or preparing for court, he can often be found on the basketball court or adventuring throughout the Pacific Northwest with his rescue dog, Wally.

Senator was very very awesome he stayed in contact with me, always filled me in on what was going on work and took the time to actually listen to me. I was being charged with several criminal charges and he had them all drop down to one ticket non-criminal. He was able to convince the prosecutor to actually look at my case and use common sense and with his hard work, my case resulted into a ticket I'm very pleased with him and his firm so if you need help here's your man and thank you senator for helping me and my family out

Austin is a very knowledgeable and a very reliable attorney. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is approachable and so easy to get along with. I was so scared after receiving a letter to appear in court, but felt at ease after meeting him the first time. My case got dismissed on my arraignment day! I told him he is my lucky charm! And for that, I highly recommend hiring him as your lawyer!!

I got a DUI and needed an Attorney I looked on Google and found Durflinger Oliver. They hooked me up with Austin and he did all the work and all I had todo was show up at court. He's a great worker and very nice! We had other interests in common as well so talking to him was easy. He made things simpler for a first timer and got my ticket dropped down to a Wreckless driving ticket instead. Thank you Austin!

Thanks Austin! When faced with a DUI, I began researching attorneys. I chose Durflinger, Oliver & Associates based on recommendations. Austin provided my consultation. Jim showed up for my arraignment. Both were very kind & seemed empathetic to my situation. At my hearing, Austin went into (greatly appreciated) detail for my options. No BS, just the facts & options. I was fully prepared for the worst. I had been suffering through bouts of depression, fearing loss of job, house, wife. Austin was reassuring, both at my consultation, and in court. I really appreciated his understanding approach. My DUI got knocked down to Reckless, & I can live with that. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Ansingh, although I hope I don't have to. For anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves in a terrible mess such as mine, you would do yourself a favor by hiring Austin.

I received a traffic ticket in Puyallup because of an accident I was involved in. My auto insurance agent Doug Schmidli recommended I call Durflinger and Oliver for legal representation to fight the ticket. Everyone at Durflinger and Oliver is friendly and easy to talk with. To hire them for representation I didn't even have to go to their office. I paid $250 over the phone with my card and signed digitial pdf documents on my phone. Right away they were requesting the ticket information from Puyallup. A few days later I also emailed Durflinger and Oliver some diagrams of the accident because the position of the four vehicles involved is easier to understand with everything laid out on paper. They were happy to receive my diagrams and pictures of my truck to better understand the circumstances of the accident. My insurance claim adjuster inquired at businesses in the area of the accident to see if any security camera's recorded the accident. She found a business that later said they have video of the accident but they refused to allow my adjuster to see the video. The business manager told my claims adjuster the video could only be reviewed or obtained by the Puyallup police department. The police said they would go view the video and after waiting more than a week they never did. I finally decided to call Durflinger and Oliver to see if they could help. When talking with Austin Ansingh, the attorney assigned to my case, he was very willing to help due to the business being so difficult releasing the video. He emailed the business a subpoena requesting the video and they had 14 days to respond before they would ultimately have to surrender the video. Within 20 minutes of Austin sending the email the business emailed him back with the video. The law firm later sent the video to my claims adjuster. In addition to my diagrams the video is a very important piece of the insurance investigation because it further proves that although I committed a minor traffic violation, the other driver broke many more serious traffic laws that contributed to the accident. For fighting the ticket Austin didn't even have to appear before the judge. Him and the Puyallup prosecutor talked about the accident shortly before the hearing and Austin told the prosecutor that one of his arguments against the ticket would be that the officer cited the wrong RCW code. The prosecutor agreed with Austin's recommendations for why the ticket could be dismissed if the judge were to hear my contested hearing. They gave the paperwork for dismissal to the judge and the judge signed off on the dismissal without even hearing the case. Austin called me after the dismissal to tell me the case was dismissed. While we were talking he said that Puyallup and Bonney Lake can be almost impossible to win against in traffic court because they are known to rewrite tickets with applicable laws so they can't be dismissed for an officer citing the wrong law or traffic code. Austin said that the officer who wrote my ticket must not have been available or the city didn't want to bother having him appear to rewrite the ticket. Austin Ansingh is very knowledgeable about the traffic laws and how the cities and jurisdictions in the area handle their tickets and infractions and how to best fight them. Three lessons I learned from this fiasco: 1. Drive more carefully and follow the traffic laws, 2. Don't get traffic tickets in Puyallup and Bonney Lake, 3. Call Durflinger and Oliver because they will refuse to negotiate and will go to court to fight for their clients if the case permits.
