About

Scott H. Wolpert, a partner at Timoney Knox, has been with the firm since 1992. His practice focuses on civil litigation with a heavy emphasis in the areas of school and special education, employment and wage and hour law. He regularly handles administrative hearings and civil litigation in state and federal court and has extensive experience in insurance defense matters and insurance coverage claims. Mr. Wolpert represents parties in all facets of employee relations, including the litigation of employment-based claims, particularly wage and hour claims.  He also regularly represents public, private and charter schools in many areas, including legal compliance, liability avoidance and student services. Mr. Wolpert is a member of the approved panel of attorneys for the Pennsylvania School Board Association’s Insurance Trust, for which he regularly handles special education and employment matters on behalf of school districts. In 2002, he was lead attorney on a multi-million dollar class action suit that resulted in substantial overtime compensation to class members. He is also a frequent speaker in his areas of practice. He holds a degree in political science from Ursinus College, where he was a Dean’s List student and received the Trucksess Prize for the study of law. Mr. Wolpert earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. Active in many civic and charitable organizations, Mr. Wolpert served as a mock trial coach through the Pennsylvania Bar Association between 1998 and 2009. He is a past president of the LaSalle College High School Alumni Association and is a past member of the Board of Advisors of the Norwood-Fontbonne Academy. Mr. Wolpert currently serves on the Maxwell Football Club’s High School Awards Committee and is an NCAA football official. Before joining Timoney Knox, he was a law clerk for The Honorable Bernard A. Moore in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.
