About
My practice focuses on helping businesses protect their intangible assets from disloyal employees and unfair competition.I am a student of the law, with a focus on how lawyers can better meet the needs of our clients. To that end, I am working on an advanced legal degree -- an LL.M. in Litigation Management from Baylor University -- to gain additional knowledge and skills to help me represent my clients more predictably, efficiently, and effectively. This is my second LL.M degree. After 20 years in practice, I returned to school to receive an LLM in Biotechnology and Genomics from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. The program is the first of its type in the world. Since 2008, I have been an adjunct professor at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, teaching a course in Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants. I also wrote the textbook for the course.I am a frequent speaker and author on employment and intellectual property issues. I have an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell. I serve on the Board of the East Valley Partnership, a coalition of community, business, government, and educational leaders that advocates to improve quality of life in the region.
