Ms. Kettles was assigned to us a a public defender. I had to call her office no less than 5 times to even get a response from her. I finally got her on the business day before our court date. I was told by her assistant just to show up to court and Ms. Kettles would do the same. To which I replied, "But we haven't even had a chance to discuss our case." I still got no call back. When I finally did get her, she reassured me that our case would be continued, then we would have time to prepare our defense. Then the day of court, the DA gave some push back on continuing the case, so Ms. Kettles blindsided us with a plea deal that we had not had a chance to consider and was not in our best interests. We foolishly caved and accepted the offer, and were immediately brushed off by Ms. Kettles. It seemed to us that she wanted to spend as little time as possible with us, rush us through the system instead of taking the time to represent our best interests. Now we get to deal with the fallout of the consequences of the plea deal and she is done with us. I am very, very dissatisfied with the "defense" that we got from this lawyer
