About
A native of Connecticut, my family moved to South Carolina when I was still a child. I received my English degree from the University of South Carolina in 1982 and my Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland in 1990. Following law school, I clerked for a year in the juvenile department of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, where it was not uncommon to conduct hearings for as many as 100 children daily, either as delinquents, children in need of assistance or children in need of supervision. My final year of clerkship was in adult criminal court. In 1994, I joined the Office of the City Solicitor for Baltimore City and was assigned to the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) where I worked directly with the director and HABC's chief of police. At the time, HABC was the fifth largest housing authority in the nation and was tackling urban revitalization amid rampant gang violence and drug wars. As counsel, I represented HABC in housing court, and in citizen review boards and administrative hearings on landlord/tenant issues, while providing advice and counsel on such diverse matters as lead paint abatement, community policing, contract review and labor contracts. I transferred from HABC to the Baltimore City Police Department in 1997. Representing a department with over 3,000 sworn officers in a city with one of the highest murder rates in the country presented numerous challenges while offering invaluable experience. I defended complex civil rights cases in state and federal court, prosecuted narcotics and gambling asset forfeiture cases, prosecuted officers in administrative disciplinary proceedings, and provided advice and counsel to senior command. After moving to Southern Oregon in 2000, I served as Lithia Auto Group’s first in-house counsel, providing advice in employment and consumer law to senior management and to more than 20 store managers across the West. I also represented Lithia in Oregon State Bureau of Labor and Industries claims and at U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission disputes in multiple states, while conducting company-wide internal investigations of employee misconduct. In pursuit of a meaningful career, I received my training in family law at the Center for Non-Profit Legal Services in Medford. As a sole practitioner for over a decade, I have built a solid reputation as a family law litigator throughout Southern and Central Oregon, providing advice, representation and advocacy to diverse clients and their families.

When I realized I needed a divorce attorney, I read many reviews and decided on Sara because her clients’ descriptions and her own words on her website suggested a person who would use her knowledge and experience to give me a realistic and honest understanding of the situation. Also, she had taken cases that were not easy wins and had a well-rounded liberal arts education likely providing the capacity to see multiple angles and consider non-standard circumstances. In addition, she seemed highly intelligent, articulate and valued high standards for her own character and her work. All of this proved to be true. The office of Sara and her husband John, a mediator, is totally run by the two of them; they have no secretary to answer their own phones and copy papers. This helps cut down on expenses and gives you a sense of connection with them as people and a legal team. When I first met Sara, I did not have the money for a retainer or anything more than the amount required for a first meeting. However, by the end of listening to her initial advice, I had a good idea about what I could fight for and what would probably be a losing battle. Sara does not play games nor does she coddle you and this is exactly what I wanted: someone to tell me the absolute, unvarnished truth. We kept in touch during the first months of my separation and when I was able to get the retainer, she was careful in her use of these funds. At the end of each month, she sends a statement explaining how the money was used. It was very straight-forward. Since divorce is an emotional roller-coaster, it is sometimes tempting to seek encouragement and solace from your attorney, but you have to remember that every conversation you have takes her time and your money. With that said, she was extremely fair and amicable through it all even when I was rattled. There is no doubt that Sara is your advocate during the process. She will fight hard for you, but she works from a foundation of decency that is based on the understanding that this is not a battle to squelch and ruin the other person. She embodies the belief that the goal is to seek a final judgment that is fair, honest and honorable. I wouldn’t have had it any other way and would recommend her to anyone seeking a divorce.
I just completed using Sara as my divorce attorney. She did an amazing job supporting me in a calm, kind, realistic, and positive way. She answers her own phone or calls you back (no secretary or para-legal). When you email her she usually emails you back within 15 minutes or less when she is in her office. This is all so helpful when dealing with the most stressful and critical issues in your life. Her fees were fair and clear. I highly recommend Sara Angeletti for your legal needs!
My situation wasn't very complicated, but Sara did an amazing job handling every aspect of my case. I never thought I would need a to hire an attorney to deal with parenting time, but I'm glad I did, and I'm glad it was Her! To anyone on the fence about hiring a lawyer, just know that it’s worth every penny when it’s a good one. There is a lot that is involved with family law, and having an expert to guide you through it is invaluable.
Sara represented me in my divorce. She was very professional, kind and efficient. She made sure that I was protected legally. She was straight forward about the laws and obviously has experience in this field. I would highly recommend her.
Sara represented me during my very complicated divorce process. The whole process took a year and a half, the trial itself three and a half days. Sara was very professional and caring at the same time. At the beginning of our work together she asked me to trust her and try not to micromanage. I am glad I did. She never missed any deadline, was very upfront about the cost and benefits of any potential actions. No surprise charges. Sara manages her own office which helps to keep the cost of the services down. Best of all Sara 100% won my trial. She got an even better result when I was expecting or asking for. I am so glad that I hired Sara and will highly recommend her to everybody.
Sara took us on after being turned down 3 other places. She is patient, understanding, and kind when telling you the reality of your situation. She was very knowledgeable in foreseeing how the court of Lane county would receive our case and tailored our request to slide through the court system without any issues. We came in to update our parenting plan and she was able to point out other discrepancies in our original judgement that would be in our favor to change as well. I'm sure it's possible we are an exception, but from the day we signed the papers with Sara to the day we parted ways was 45 days in total. Never could have asked for better, faster, more personal service.
My long history of mental health issues, hospitalizations, and my file with child welfare were all stacked against me. Against all odds, I was awarded full custody of my children after no contact for almost a year. Sara is a master planner and the queen of details. Her plan was strategic and every base was covered. It was a triumphant ending with me picking up my kids on the last day of court. I can’t express enough how grateful I am to Sara.
Upon calling her office, she was the first attorney to actually answer. No explaining to a secretary and waiting for a call back. I consulted with her and hired her on the spot. My ex wife took off with my kids to California and had been gone for 2 months. Sara handled everything in a timely manner and with a high degree of professionalism. She kept in close contact with me through the entire process and because of her I don't have to worry about my ex doing this again. She even revised the existing parenting plan to be more specific and detailed which has resulted in more time with my children. It was money well spent and I couldn't have asked for a better attorney. She has been practicing in her field for a long time and it shows through her professionalism, she knew exactly what to do and got it done. I highly recommend her, if you are looking for an attorney in this field call her first! You won't be disappointed!
Sara Angeletti was excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better divorce attorney to represent me and my children's best interest. She was professional, honest, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend her to anyone going through the difficult transition of divorce.
Sara helped me through a really painful divorce and I am extremely happy with the alimony/support she fought to get me. She is helpful, kind and explains thing so you completely understand. I couldn't have gotten anyone more experienced.
