About

 Sallie Moutvic Lupescu is a Senior Associate with Bennett Law Firm, LLC. She concentrates in the areas of family law and divorce litigation and practices in DuPage, Will and Cook Counties. Ms. Lupescu attended Indiana University’s Bloomington campus, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Slavic Language and Literature, and a minor in Spanish.  She attended law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law, while working as a litigation paralegal at a large firm in Chicago.  Ms. Lupescu received her Juris Doctorate with honors. After graduation, Ms. Lupescu worked as a family law litigator for several years concentrating in domestic relations and appellate cases.  Thereafter, she accepted a position as real estate counsel with the U.S. Legal Department at McDonald’s Corporation where she worked on drafting technical contracts, supervised contract negotiations, negotiated national agreements and managed outside counsel on litigation.  While at McDonald’s Corporation, Ms. Lupescu assisted her regional team in regularly obtaining corporate recognition awards for meeting their annual development goals, and trained corporate and regional personnel on addressing other legal issues.  She returned to private practice in 2008 with Bennett Law Firm, LLC, where she now practices exclusively in family law matters. In 2009, Ms. Lupescu was elected to the Board of Education for Downers Grove District 58, where she currently serves as the Vice President of the Board, the Chairman of the Legislative Committee, and a member of the Policy Committee.  She previously served as the Chairman of the Policy Committee, a member of the Insurance Committee, and liaison for the Board’s just recently completed Superintendent search. Ms. Lupescu was responsible for organizing a program and coordinating the speakers for the DuPage County Bar Association Family Law and Practice Committee meeting on April 24, 2012 on the topic “Non-Minor Support for the Mentally or Physically Disabled Child.”  Ms. Lupescu was also a featured speaker at the meeting and spoke about providing for the disabled child whose parents are in the process of a divorce or who are divorced, and provisions in the Marital Settlement Agreement to protect the disabled child after the child reaches age 18. The program also included issues of guardianship for the disabled child, estate planning issues affecting the disabled child, and resources such as federal and state funding and services available for the disabled child.
