Russell Carlson is the 3rd attorney I have hired in Sacramento County, and he is by far the best. He is honest, and he can pull out dishonesty as unacceptable in an environment with children. Many Family Law courtrooms allow perjury, but Russell makes sure it is not acceptable. He advocates for the safety of women and children in every regard, and he truly puts the children's best interest first. Russell's approach is simple and straight-forward, so that non relevant issues do not cloud the agenda at hand - that agenda being safety for the children. He is very experienced, and will tell you everything that can or may happen, without sugar-coating to make you "feel good", as so many attorneys do to keep being retained. Russell has experience with international child abduction under Hague Convention and experience with Family Law Code 3044, both experiences that are rare to find in local attorneys. Going into court with an honest, prepared, experienced, confident, and very well-spoken attorney is invaluable - which is why Russell Carlson has been ideal for keeping my little girls safe and away from any more harm and abductions than what they've already experienced. If you need a professional and experienced attorney, you need to call Russell Carlson first.

Mr. Carlson will sit and listen like a kindly grandfather. He will make you feel heard, then he will take your money and do NOTHING. Nothing. When you attempt to follow up you will have to tell him again what you want and then it will cost more because he used your retainer to do the things that lawyers do to use up your money and then demand more. If you have 50k to spend, he will do well for you. If you have 50 k to spend you will spend that and then need another 50k to get him to finish the job or fire him and then go find someone who will actually do something.

Mr. Carlson started off great. Personable, in contact. As time went on, he became too busy to respond to communication and then just stopped acting on my behalf. He and his office made several mistakes which were never corrected and which I was billed for.
