As an HR Practitioner, I utilize Mr. Thomas on several occasions as it relates to Employment related areas. Various questions pertaining to discrimination, FLSA, and LOA's have been brought forth to Mr. Thomas, and on each encounter he brings forth a wealth of information which enables me to take the best course of action. In addition, he remains up to date on the most current issues effecting employment law on the Federal and State level. Mr. Thomas to do this continues to be a major source to myself and company....always helping us see future legality potential before it happens!
Mr. Thomas is one of the most intelligent, honest, and witty people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. While attorneys, as a rule, are among the lowest forms of life to ever slither upon the Earth, Mr. Thomas absolutely does not fit into that well-deserved stereotype. In addition to the fact that he is incredibly intelligent, well-versed in the law, and has more integrity in just one of his little fingers than most other lawyers could wish to have over the course of their lifetimes, Mr. Thomas goes out of his way to ensure that his clients have full access to him and will take the time to fully explain the ins-and-outs of the legal matters he takes on. Mr. Thomas will answer all of your questions and will provide you with honest answers — even when you don’t want to hear them. In addition, he also listens very intently to his clients (now, isn’t that a unique idea for most lawyers) and goes the extra mile to ensure that every concern is addressed. If you want to hire someone who slithers upon the ground while flicking their forked tongues and bilking as much money from the people they allegedly represent — hire someone else. If you want honesty, integrity, intelligence, and mastery of the law, hire Mr. Thomas. You won’t be sorry.
This guy survives in law by finding companies that will settle with a "nuisance suit" payment. I feel sorry for the guy. He's nice enough but DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT let him take your case to trial. In spite of his bragging that he has been a CA Bar attorney for 50 years, he has comparatively little trial experience. He does not know even the most the basic protocol of a trial. On the positive, he has a good office staff and they try to do the best they can under very difficult circumstances.
If there a a area to rate this lawyer even lower, it would be checked in all areas. Mr. Thomas is a unprofessional, ill prepared mistake. Mr. Thomas went into trail as our lawyer (plantiff) had no discovery, no witness list, barely understood the case less capable of trying it. The poor judge gave him every advantage because of his handicap but had his hand covering his face whenever Mr. Thomas tried to speak. Mr Thomas was unable to make 1( I repeat 1 point in a 4 day painful trial. Upon ruling the judge said defendants had lied, conspired against us, and did not believe a word defendants or their witnesses said, but that such a poorly executed show of evidence had been presented he ruled in the defendants favor. All trail prep was done by the plantiff, all images were gathered and made into a power point presentation by plantiff per Mr. Thomas instructions, and then he had no idea how to present it. He dismissed defendants without consulting clients. I have run out of space.......
Please check ALL personal references of Mr. Thomas before retaining his services. He represented my family and I for 4 years and weeks before a public jury trial, he made a motion to withdraw as counsel. He represented me in a deposition BUT when the case became more involved than he expected, he abandoned representation. We just learned this week that Mr. Thomas entered into a Stipulation to Waive Punitive Damages in the same civil lawsuit and NEVER informed us and did not include the stipulation in his client files. We learned about the waiver via reviewing court records at the courthouse. Mr. Thomas also gave his permission for a Defendant to meet in Judge's Chambers with the plaintiff and defendant's attorneys during the trial BUT never informed his client what took place during the 45 minute closed door meeting. Mr. Thomas also FAILED to provide a copy of a retainer agreement that he allegedly said was forwarded to his client. When the Judge ruled against us, Mr. Thomas informed us that the Judge had denied a request for findings of fact and conclusions of law. However, we cannot find the Judge's denial in any court records to date. BEWARE!
