About
Mr. Logar graduated from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1961. Upon graduation he was appointed law clerk for the Nevada Supreme Court, and upon completion of his one year appointment, entered private practice with one of the most prestigious law firms in Reno, Nevada. In 1964 he established his own firm, with emphasis on family law, business entities, mining, real property, insurance defense and general civil litigation. He currently is an inactive member of the State Bar of Arizona. In 1985 Mr. Logar founded the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada. He was the first chairman of the executive counsel and served in that capacity for several years. After the family law section was up and running, Mr. Logar created a family law publication of the Family Law Section, called the Nevada Family Law Report. He was the executive editor and often submitted family law articles which appeared in that publication. This quarterly publication is widely circulated to not only the bench and bar but to law libraries as well. After several years of editorial supervision, the family law section voted Mr. Logar the publications editor emeritus. In addition, Mr. Logar was a co-editor and topic contributor to the Nevada Family Law Practice Manual. Mr. Logar was active in community affairs and charitable organizations. He served for a number of years on the board for various Parent-teacher Associations, and lectured to High School students on various aspects of divorce, custody and visitation. His community service included serving as a member of the State Board of Education representing Reno, Washoe County, State of Nevada. Mr. Logar has been a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers since 1981. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America as one of the best family lawyers in the country. He is a certified arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and has received extensive training in Negotiation Techniques, Arbitration, Mediation and Collaborative Law. Mr. Logar is a designated arbitrator of the State Court Annex Arbitration Program. Mr. Logar is one of only a few family lawyers in Nevada that is Certified as a Family Law Specialist. Mr. Logar has been an active member of the State Bar of Nevada and served as a member and chairman of the State Bar Ethics Committee. He is a member of the Washoe County Bar Association. He has been a member of the American Bar Association for many years and a member of the Family Law Section. He is a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and a member of the Collaborative Professions of Nevada. Mr. Logar has been a member of the Family & Conciliation Courts, serving on its Conference Committee; Nevada committee of the Federal Gender Bias Task Force; American College of Family Trial Lawyers, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the California Family Law Report. Mr. Logar has written numerous articles which were published regarding major family law issues. He has publications in the Nevada Lawyer (formerly Inter Alia); Nevada Family Law Report; Community Property Journal; Divorce Litigation and the Matrimonial Strategist. His article entitled, "Equitable or Equal, Nevada's Dilemma" was cited with approval by the Nevada Supreme Court in its decision, McNabney v. McNabney, 105 Nev. 652, 782 P. 2d 1291 (1989). Mr. Logar has lectured extensively before the State Bar of Nevada; Washoe County Bar Association; Clark County Bar Association; National Business Institute; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants annual Family Law Meeting; Association of Family and Conciliation Courts; National and Nevada Trial Lawyer's Association; and the Legal Education Institute. Mr. Logar has considerable experience in International Family Law and Jurisdictional matters. He has advised and counseled with Lawyers throughout much of the United States. He has represented clients from a number of foreign countries, and many from various jurisdictions throughout the United States. He has handled complex conflict of law and State Jurisdictional property disputes, and tried numerous cases within all seventeen counties of the State of Nevada. The principle counties being Washoe, Clark, Douglas and Carson. Mr. Logar has received a number of Honors, Awards and Distinctions, which include, Best Lawyers in America; Reno Magazine, "Legal Eagles," one of Nevada Family Law Super Lawyers, Sunworld's "Top Guns" in Nevada; one of Nevada's Best Lawyers, by Nevada Women's Magazine; and several "Who's Who" in Law. Mr. Logar has an "A-V" rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
