Mr. Ronald Brotzman (Ron) has been our legal counsel for over two decades and has really been there for us. Ron has provided council on family trusts and estates numerous times -- both our parents and ours. Ron has created estate plans for us including family trusts, wills, power of attorney documents and helped transfer estate property. He has been very helpful clarifying, and sometimes debunking, the cloud of legal information you come across on the internet. Ron has setup multiple LLC’s for our businesses and provided general legal counsel on potential disputes. When warranted he recommends other specialist, i.e., patent attorneys, etc. Most importantly, Ron is our first step in anything legal.
I have known Ron Brotzman for over 20 years and during that time he has handled a number of different legal matters for me. He is very knowledgeable about many facets of the law, especially in dealing with wills, trusts, and family law. He worked with my mother and myself in rewriting our wills and living wills, durable and medical Powers of Attorney, and Revocable Trusts. He gave us a variety of options as to how these could be set up and gave us his advice on what would be the best way and told us why. When I had an issue with a beneficiary, he helped me to figure out the best way to handle it. He is very approachable and quickly responds to any questions that I have. I know that he is looking out for my best interests and I am thankful to have him on my side. I highly recommend Ron to anyone needing an attorney.
My mother hired Ron many years ago to set up her trust and to take care of some problems from my father's estate. When he passed away his attorney had retired and the firm handed it over to someone who never finished probate and did not keep mom informed on what she was doing. So when Ron got hold of things, it was a BIG mess! This was a few years after dad had passed. Through his research and efforts we were able to find and repair some very big problems. He took care of the unfinished probate issue. Then he started to research our oil and gas holdings in Colorado and North Dakota. There were properties that no one in our family knew about. Dad had a stroke and couldn’t communicate and he never informed anyone about all the properties he had obtained. Amazingly, before mom passed away, Ron helped us find all of the holdings and put them into a new LLC so now our family can maintain this asset in perpetuity. He was also able to manage several different aspects of our family's businesses. We had a farm with mineral rights, conservation rights, and water rights that he was able to make sure were placed correctly for estate and business purposes. One of the most helpful things he did was send me an organizational chart showing where how all of our family trusts and businesses fit together. I am the manager and it got pretty complicated at times so this made life much easier. When we sold the property after mom's passing, he discovered and fixed any problems that cropped up quickly and efficiently. His diligent oversight into my mother's rather complicated estate was so good that we finally found everything and put it in the right places so that there was no need for probate when mom passed away. It made a stressful time much easier. Besides all these skills and besides his extreme intellectual capacity, he is one of the nicest guys I know. I use him for my estate planning as well as for setting up and maintaining my own businesses now. I can always call on him if I have questions about our businesses and my estate and he sets me straight and gets me moving in the right direction. His advice has always been spot on. He has high standards and ethics. He didn't make many mistakes but if he did, it was always spotted and fixed quickly. If you are looking for an outstanding attorney, in my opinion, you can’t find one better than Ron. If I was to give him a rating it would be the highest possible score. A+
