About

His background includes an B.S. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and after serving five years to the rank of Captain and as a jet instructor pilot in the USAF, a law degree from Northwestern University School of Law (Chicago).   In his senior year at law school he authored a law review article on Federal Fair Housing Law. After commencing his law practice in Phoenix, Arizona he co-authored the definitive Arizona Real Estate Transactions Practice Manual, was awarded an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell,  was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court,  joined the American Bar Association, was a senior real estate partner at the Phoenix office of national firm Winston & Strawn, then became a senior real estate partner in the Phoenix office of national firm Quarles &Brady until 2005 when he founded his firm. In 2008 while maintaining his practice he also served as General Counsel to national general construction contractor J. Walters Construction Company. In 2008 Mr. Spencer was listed as one of the Most Important People to Know in the Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazine and has been featured in Arizona Lawyer Magazine. Mr. Spencer has lectured and written extensively on topics of real estate law and practice (see details at Mr. Spencer’s website). Mr. Spencer has contributed to his community and to the profession. Among other activities he served three years on the Board of Directors of the Men’s Arts Counsel in support of the Phoenix Art Museum, served on the Phoenix Symphony Council in support of the Phoenix Symphony,  served two years on the Board of Directors of the Maricopa County Bar Foundation (a charitable giving foundation), served as a member of the  Phoenix Sunrise Rotary Club and the Phoenix 100 Rotary Club, served three years on the Board of Directors of Valley Partnership in support of numerous charitable activities (organized by members of the Arizona real estate industry), served on the Organizing Committee of the 1993 United States Figure Skating Championship (held that year in Arizona), served as a member of the Fiesta Bowl Committee, was a Founding Member of the Assisted Living Federation of America-Arizona Chapter, and served as a School Reader for the Phoenix School District School Reader Program at J.B. Sutton Elementary School. Recently, in recognition of his community service and professional stature Mr. Spencer accepted an invitation to join Lambda Alpha International (now known as LAI), a global network of professionals dedicated to community service in the land use industry.”
