About
For more than 30 years, I have represented individuals and small businesses in Arizona as well those located throughout the United States with properties located in Arizona. My areas of practice include all facets of real estate law, business law, estate planning, and taxation. I have built a law practice based primarily on referrals from my clients and from my peers. When representing Arizona clients, I draw upon my unique blend of legal experience and education helping them to buy and sell property, negotiate leases, and start businesses; plan their estates and handle family probates; as well as negotiate settlements with the Internal Revenue Service.I am a graduate of San Diego State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Sciences. From there I attended Arizona State University College of Law earning my Juris Doctorate, having graduated cum laude. Following law school, I obtained my Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University School of Law.As a result of a good education, superior mentorship during my years at Mohr, Hackett, et al., and hard work, I was awarded an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. AV Preeminent indicates my peers have ranked me at the highest levels of professional excellence and ethical standards; it takes a minimum of 10 years of practicing law to achieve an AV rating. I have received this award for the past 15 years and will do my best to continue receiving it for the next 15.

My parents died, at different times, within the last two years (2013 and 2015). Robert prepared their family trust and other estate and healthcare documents (such as durable powers of attorney, healthcare powers of attorney, and wills) approximately fifteen years ago. I am the trustee of my parents' family trust. After my parents died, I went to Robert for help with the administration of their estates. Robert was patient with me and explained well the steps I needed to take and procedures I needed to follow. Robert's advice was thoughtful, practical, matter of fact, and to the point. Robert was able to explain how different assets were titled, the different procedures for transferring a variety of assets, and whether court proceedings would be necessary. Robert's work and documentation (such as trustee certificates, notices, and property distribution documents) were helpful and timely. Because Robert did a good job planning with my parents and helping them get their family trust set-up years ago, the administration of their estates after their deaths went smoothly. The breadth and depth of Robert's business, tax, real estate and probate experience was invaluable when it came to evaluating creditor claims and making property distribution decisions after my parents' deaths.
I have engaged Robert on several occasions with respect to trusts and estates, business organization and investment counsel. His attention to detail is outstanding, and his trenchant legal advice is thoughtful and wise. He is clearly the best general matter lawyer I have had the pleasure to hire and am pleased to recommend him without qualification.
