About

Though only licensed since 2016, I have had the pleasure of meeting with clients to discuss their estate planning and elder law needs for several years as a law clerk in an Estate Planning Law Firm with offices in Northwest Indiana, South Bend, and Lafayette. My client-focused approach means I do not require clients to come to my office. I meet clients in their home, their advisor's office, or maybe even a coffee shop. I believe in a reasonable fee for services provided. Additionally, your fee will be based on what you need - not the value of your estate or what I think I could get you to pay. My fee schedule is available at our first meeting.I have worked with dozens of clients, discussing their concerns, life changes, and family dynamics. I explained options for them to consider in simple, non-legalese terms. One thing I have heard from so many people the last several years is that I do not come across as a "normal" attorney, because they can understand what I am talking about. I used to tell people that I was not an attorney (during my clerk-time) and I would strive to stay that way after being sworn-in.Dozens of clients have specifically said to me that they appreciated my conversational style and ability to explain complex legal concepts in everyday terms. Additionally, they say that I truly listened to their concerns and then gave them options that address what they need.Recently, during a meeting with the CFO of a local company with international distribution, he stopped in the middle of the conversation to say he appreciated that I spoke with him. He said more often than not, he feels like attorneys talk down to him.I have more than thirty years of experience in the work-a-day world. I have worked in a large university in development; a small, local non-profit serving the homeless community; a Fortune 150 company in sales and sales management; and in radio -on-air, management, and sales. The foundations of my style include serving clients, bringing out the best in people I work with, and keeping a broad view of even small matters. I believe that each citizen has a right to the full powers of the law, regardless of the fee paid. My fees are set as reasonable for the services provided - not on the pure value of assets or income.I encourage you to schedule a time to meet. We can discuss your estate planning and elder law questions, review your current planning documents to make sure they still meet your current needs, and/or concerns you may have about parents or children's care. RG cares about his clients and giving them what exactly what they need. Unlike other lawyers I have seen in this sort of legal realm, he doesn't try to over sell you on things you don't need. He is always able to answer your questions with thoughtfulness and due diligence. He makes it so you can understand what is happening, what can be done and your options.
