About

I follwed my father's path by attending Willamette University Law School after three years at University of San Francisco and one year as an undergrad at Willamette. My two daughters are pictured above with me on Father's Day, 2013. My wife, Anna Nordyke, runs our rental properties from my law office. She has a daughter, Courtney, who has two children and they are regulars at our home. My personal belief is that family is the most important part of life. My favorite weekend activity is cooking a big dinner for family or friends. I still play the piano having spent many years in lessons and a few years in local nightclubs when I used to work during the day as a young lawyer, and played in the Bob Nordyke Band at night. Good times! As a lawyer, I started out doing criminal law, family law, and everything that came in my door. Soon though, I gravitated to family law because I love the problem-solving aspect and the importance of helping remove stress for families in conflict. Early on I represented a huge volume of clients because I had moved into a bank building with a drive up window. People magazine did an article on my drive up divorce window and thousands of clients and many years later I still enjoy finding solutions for my divorce and family law clients. Having been in court trials countless times; and having listened to custody study experts and judges' decisions, I can make a very accurate estimate of what will happen in a family law case, and this helps me advise my clients. There is no charge to talk with me for 30 minutes and ask your questions about your case. Take advantage of my experience and bring your list of questions and ask me for my opinion about your case.

I am in my 80's and easily confused by legal matters. I called Robert Nordyke for a free consult. It was amazing. He took his time and explained everything. Who says there are no free lunches! Thank you, Bob.

Mr Nordyke is an amazing lawyer and really listens to your wants, needs and concerns. I feel super comfortable coming to him with any arising problems and he has been a wonderful help to my case. Definitely recommend. Everyone knows or has heard of him, and never once have I heard anything negative. He is amazing.

Mr Robert Nordyke was incredibly helpful during my divorce process. He answered all my concerns and provides me with the best legal advise as warranted. He had done his utmost for me. He is very warm and friendly which helps a lot to reduce anxiety when one is getting into a divorce. I do appreciate some of his personal advise. He is a very experience lawyer in this specialty. I appreciate his knowledge and resourcefulness. I would highly recommend him.

I was unsure of where to go for my divorce. my friend told me about bob , so I called made an appointment for a review of my case . first thing he put me at ease, with his knowledge, and experience. my divorce went easy and with no worry. I am back to him now 4 yrs later for a child support modification. and again feel he has my back covered. I recommend anybody to see him, easy payments , not all at once like some.

I had no idea what I was getting into with my divorce. Mr Nordyke was recomdended to me by a cousin and he did not disappoint. My ex blatently lied trying to get what she wanted and with Robert's help I did what was best for myself and my children and was awarded custodial parent. When dealing with a divorce with children he will do what is best for the kids. I was very impressed and hold him in the highest regards.

Nordyke is cheap for a reason. He did the bare minimum and most basic divorce agreement to make it easier on himself. He did not fight for me. I agreed to a 30%/70% custody situation with my ex (she having the 70%) and found out later that I easily could have argued for more. I knew nothing of the divorce process, so relied on Nordyke's experience to lead me down this path. Because I lacked the knowledge I settled on this arrangement and now cannot go back and re-negotiate (or if I did try it has a small chance of success). My new lawyer had to fix a lot of things that were wrong on Nordyke's original divorce decree. Nordyke had my total amount of custody wrong, which affected my child support payment and resulted in me overpaying my ex by $200/month for the past 2 years. He didn't have anything in the paperwork about my spousal support going away if my ex remarried. When she did remarry I could only reduce it (so yes I am still paying spousal to her even after she has remarried) since we didn't have it in the original document that Nordyke produced. Finally, the divorce paperwork said that when the children turn 18 and move out of the house/go to college she would continue to get child support instead of the support going directly to them. My new lawyer was successful in fixing these issues. Also, Nordyke urged me to say antagonistic things in our negotiations back and forth to my ex that I was uncomfortable doing. I followed his advice, assuming he was the expert. This backfired majorly. This made my ex extremely angry and made the process even more stressful and difficult than it already was. Even though other lawyers may be more expensive in the area, it's well worth it to go to someone else. In the long run, my new lawyer is saving me $20,000 over the course of the divorce agreement even after factoring in his fees. But if I would have went with him in the first place, I would have saved a lot more and would be able to see my kids more/have more custody.
