The American Civil Liberties Union referred Mr. Elliot for my case. He successfully defended my civil rights. He traveled to Greensboro from Winston-Salem to represent me. A citation for violation of a city noise ordinance may not be a big deal to some, but issuing a citation in order to suppress support for anti-war protesters was a violation of first amendment rights in this case. Support the ACLU. The ACLU defends your freedom from tyranny.
My experiences with this attorney were exactly the same as the 4/24/15 reviewer. It is not that I had unrealistic expectations and my expectations were unmet. Just unprepared on a regular basis, seemed to do little preparation before important meetings and in my opinion, overly relied on his paralegal assistant who was also unprepared on a regular basis and did not follow through on important details.
I was a client of Robert Elliot. He failed to prepare for meetings, did not digest facts, came to meetings without notes and had to have facts repeated to him. He did not provide legal strategy and clearly would have lost the case. He charged high fees, but failed to provide insights into the case, work on it, and come up with a winning strategy.
