I hired Rickey to defend me on a domestic protection order filed by my x-wife. It was critical that it not be implemented for me because of my past record with domestic cases. Colorado like most states has a habitual criminal law that has mandatory sentencing. This leaves the judge with no discretion when it comes to how you should be punished or rehabilitated. You simply get a grip of time behind bars if you are found guilty on your third time of any domestic violence case. To get to the point I did not spend a whole lot of time consulting with him prior to my court appearances so, I was a little concerned, but my fears were soon gone when I met him at the jefferson county courthouse and i followed him from one judges clerk to the next and witnessed the rapport he had with the clerks and my fears turned to admiration. The man simply was in his element and it was obvious to me that he loved his work and was respected and liked in the courthouse. When the "trial" began (its not exactly a trial but very similar) from the start he was in complete control of the courtroom, even stopping me from saying something that was not going to help my case and instead allowing my x-wife to bury herself while trying to make her case as to why she should be granted an extension. He then presented the judge with the alternative solution I had agreed to and you could tell the judge was on the same page as us when she proceeded to explain to my x how it would work, at rickeys request no less. The court adopted all of his suggestions and the case turned out exactly the way we had planned. I settled for a mutual no-contact order that we had agreed was the best solution without the risk of losing an actual hearing where we would both testify and be allowed witnesses etc. I have been in a few courtrooms in my time and must say that his command of the courtroom and overall presence in the courthouse was impressive. Thanks for being my legal counsel on this case Rickey. And if your reading this and have money to hire a good attorney I highly recommend Rickey Fitzsimmons!!!

I should have had my case dismissed. He does didn't even fight for me on my due case but more focused on a child service matter which I solved on my own. He is worthless as far as listening or trying to resolve something so simple. He only showed up to one court date and pushed me to sign a plea. I paid him in full. But I would never hire hire nor talk or respect this individual in my opinion.
