I approached Mr. Rutledge about a consumer law problem with a merchant, which involved my elderly mother as well as myself and some friends. Mr. Rutledge was concerned, asked intelligent questions, and listened intently to the situation. He made comments that were helpful. I was able to get the case resolved over several months with Mr. Rutledge's help. He was also flexible with his billing: instead of charging me for every single email i sent him, he only charged for emails to which he made a substantial reply. In my experience, that is an unusual billing practice for a lawyer (and one which I sincerely appreciated). He only charged me $100 for the initial consultation, well below his hourly rate, and we probably talked for 1.25+ hours. The only negative thing I would note is that he was sometimes difficult to get a hold of; I left message after message. I got tired of hearing his lengthy menu-driven message on his office phone. Overall, I strongly recommend Mr. Rutledge for a consumer law matter.
