If you're facing charges for a criminal offense, guilty or not, who you hire to represent you is likely the single most important decision you'll ever have to make. The consequences of conviction are life altering and in many cases permanent. Hiring Richard was without question the best move I made as I faced charges of domestic violence and criminal mischief. His deep experience in colorado criminal defense was very evident as the entire case unfolded exactly as he told me it would. Though he ultimately left it to me to make the final decisions such as accept a plea, go to trial, etc... it was his guidance which came in the form of thorough explanation and patience with me as I processed everything, that ultimately led us to the best possible final outcome. Its hard to know how to thank someone for such service, and words certainly aren't enough. A start I suppose is a strong recommendation to make Richard your first call should you find yourself charged or facing charges. Thank you, thank you, thank you Richard!

Sometimes good people do stupid things and I got myself into some serious trouble. I was scared and didn't know what to do so I contacted Richard B Huttner P.C. for information and assistance. It was the best thing I could have done in my situation. His experience and knowledge is far superior and I'm glad I put my trust in him to help me out of something that could have ended much worse. He's very honest and respectful and treats you like a human, not just another case. He's very thorough with his work and keeps you updated with everything thats happening. I am so very thankful for his services. He saved me from a multiple felony charge on my record and jail time. I definitely recommend Richard B Huttner P.C if you need help.

I’ve been working with Richard since August of 2016 (Case took 4+ years). I was stopped for a urinating in public, but the charges quickly changed to DUI after they saw my priors. By the end of the encounter, I was facing indecent exposure (Urinating in public), DUI, resisting arrest, and obstruction of a peace officer. Richard took on my case and immediately got a small win at the DMV. The hearing officer at the DMV ruled that I should have never been pulled over as the officer had no description of the individual he “thought” he observed urinating. This officer could not tell if the person was black, white, or other, and couldn’t even decipher man of woman. Needless to say I was awarded my license back that day. My case is a very long and drawn out story. We lost at trial due to an error made by the court in which Richard advised that I could Appeal. I was facing 11 months in jail, court fees, probation, alcohol classes, and the loss of my license. I appealed to the district court (won); the people (DA) appealed to the Supreme Court (lost). My conviction was set aside and I was given the opportunity to have a new trial. The former DA for the 18th district was not a fan of my case and would not just settle with us so we presented the case to the new 18th district DA once he was sworn in. Richard again went to bat for me and was able to get all charges dismissed except for obstruction. I pled guilty to obstruction; no jail, no probation, just a $50 fine. What a difference having a fresh set of unbiased eyes can do for your case. Thank you Richard for seeing this through to the end, and having the expertise to know my best options available. Sean

Due to bad judgement on my part I have required legal services on two occasions having to do with DUIs over the past 15 years. Once in 2004 and once recently in 2017/2018. In both cases - and specifically in the most recent case - Richard Huttner was not only extremely responsive but offered stellar guidance, coaching and overall representation for all aspects of the case. This includes but is not limited to discussion/guidance immediately after the incident, scheduling, preparation and representation for the initial court appearance, Pre-Trial conference, plea discussions with the DA(s) and ultimately sentencing. In addition, Richard flawlessly assisted with getting necessary travel approved during the Pre-Trial period. Richard instantaneously responded to any/all questions I had with straightforward and fact-based responses that I could count on. Richard is easy to talk to, does not judge or make you feel like a horrible person BUT does clearly articulate the gravity of the situation and best/worst-case options and potential outcomes. I HIGHLY recommend Richard should you or a loved one/close friend be in a situation where legal representation is necessary.

Richard, was very efficient and detail oriented, professional and extremely thorough in his preparation, and did a great job of keeping my international students well informed. He did a outstanding job representing them. Richard is an excellent attorney. He is very intelligent, has a keen legal ability to see the real issues, and does not get mired in the tangential. I know him for over 16 years.

I have never wrote a review in my life. I felt compelled to do so because of the service that I just received. The consultation was free and thorough. Through the initial consultation we learned that we did not need an attorney and Richard gave us free advice as to the legal how to handle the situation related to our son. Thank You Richard you are a Blessing.

Mr. Huttner was tremendous in his assistance to my daughter following her auto accident. Just prior to her starting freshman year in college, she had an auto accident. She was charged with a misdemeanor, which she did not need on her record just starting out in college. He was able to have this removed, but better yet she had to do double the community service that was originally proposed. This was a much more legitimate punishment for her since she had to get it done during her first semester. As our lawyer, he was understanding with her most of the time, but firm with her when necessary. As a result, she learned more and was more appreciative of the system. I cannot thank him enough for helping her, and in return she learned a valuable lesson.

I never was charged with anything in my life before. I met with many lawyers before choosing Richard and Thank God I did. Richard explained the whole process and cared about me and made me feel better about it. Richard gave me advice in what to do before we met with the DA all I can say is make sure you listen. After meeting with the DA for the second time Richard got my case dismissed.

Mr. Huttner provided excellent service and was always prompt to respond to emails and phone calls. He is very knowledgeable and communicated with us through every phase of the case, and used his professional negotiation skills resulting in reduced charges acceptable to all parties. He is very personable, easy to work with and provided reassurance and hope during a most difficult time. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
