I am absolutely satisfied and grateful for Richard's representation. I would have never been able to accomplish what Richard's has done for me. Highly recommended.
I was fortunate to have engaged Rick to appeal my prior DUI court conviction, due to the state depriving me of my constitutional rights. Rick was an outstanding legal advocate for me during the entire appeal process. Due to his advocacy, my prior DUI conviction was overturned and the records expunged. Rick is astute, a great lawyer, and the consummate professional. I highly recommend Richard Holcomb to be your legal counsel on all administrative and court DUI matters.
100% satisfied with the outcome of my DUI case with Mr. Holcomb representing me. He was very professional and I felt very comfortable having him represent me. Highly recommended lawyer for anybody with a similar case!
If you are charged with DUI in Hawaii, this is the lawyer you want to represent you. I was arrested and charged in Sept 2017. We went to court five or six times and Rick was always the best prepared advocate in the room. The charge was eventually dismissed under Rule 48. During my visits to court, many times my case was one of the last to be called due to what I assume was motions or steps of procedure which would take some time to go through. Rick was always ready. The state was not. I watched attorney after attorney enter a plea deal for their clients at the arraignment. I felt really sorry for the clients because a conviction will cost them a lot of money and follow them for a long time. Many were young or immigrants who trusted their attorney to do the right thing for them. I got the impression most lawyers were just taking the money and going through the motions. Rick is a little more expensive than the attorney who will advise you to take a deal. But he's worth it. The money you will save just in fines and auto insurance premiums will more than cover his fee. He will represent and advocate for you, not sell you out. Do yourself a favor and pay for quality representation. You won't regret it.
Rick is the best lawyer there is when you’re caught in a bind, and the results don’t lie. I was arrested on suspicion of DUI a few years ago and actually hired someone else as my counsel. After almost a year of dodgy communication and no updates, I quickly realized my previous counsel was not putting in the effort when we were unprepared for my first hearing. This resulted in a continuance with time charged on my behalf. I immediately gave Rick a call and not only did he pick up my case but he won it quite easily. Just to give you an idea, my first attorney filed nothing in the 8 months he was my counsel. Rick filed at least 40 documents within a month on my behalf. There’s really no comparison, this is one of the hardest working guys in the business.
I am writing this review after 4+ years since my hearing. A DUI is never a fun thing to go through, and after receiving a stack of letters a few business days after getting bailed, I decided to do my own due diligence in looking for an attorney. I stumbled upon Rick's information from my friend's attorney who had recommended Rick. Coupled with my own research, I felt more than comfortable in giving Rick a call to schedule a consultation. Rick was very professional and broke everything down to me. He painted this illustration on our plan of defense, as if we were defending a big walled castle secured by a wide moat. I felt very confident with Rick at that point and decided to have him represent me. What resulted thereafter was multiple hearings that ultimately led to the case getting dismissed with prejudice. I was very pleased with Rick's services no matter how the decision had went. Fortunately it had gone our way, and more importantly I was able to resume my life without this bearing down on me. I am very much appreciative of Rick and would recommend him to anyone who has fallen in a similar predicament.
I can't thank Rick enough for seeing my case through and for the totally successful and hard fought outcome. Being arrested for OVUII was just the beginning of a long and very stressful period that would have serious life repercussions depending on the court decision. From the very beginning of the journey Rick was informative and upfront about all aspects of the situation (legal, fees, "next steps", what to expect, etc.). In court he was a fighter, very knowledgable, eloquent and stood out in the courtroom. Being present and sitting through many hearings (both mine and others) and seeing what goes on with all the "players" involved made me truly appreciate Rick's work as an attorney, his character and the thought and substance behind the filings made on my behalf. It was a hard road that had setbacks along the way but Rick never relented, was never discouraged and always had a "next move". The end result was a dismissal of OVUII charge with prejudice, meaning the State can't re-file the charges. My driving without headlights ticket was vacated and I got my money back. In addition to the court case, Rick also handled all matters with the ADLRO and is currently working on getting the arrest expunged from my record. Rick gets my highest recommendation and utmost appreciation.
Getting charged with a DUI is a very scary, confusing, and simply put a horrible experience. It is crucial to find an attorney that you can trust and have confidence in. Upon first meeting Richard Holcomb, you'll know he is the lawyer for you. He is a highly knowledgeable and competant attorney with many years of experience with DUI cases (including being a certified field sobriety test instructor). He answered all my questions thoroughly and was very straight forward with the case and expectations. He works tirelessly, goes above and beyond in his efforts to make sure your case gets the attention it deserves and strives to ensure the best possible outcome. He not only got my dui case dismissed with prejudice (best possible outcome) but also won my ADLRO case and got my license back quickly. I am extremely happy and satisfied with Richard Holcomb's service and I HIGHLY recommend him for your case. This is your guy!
Richard quickly set himself apart from other DUI lawyers by giving a thorough overview of his credentials, passion for his specialty, legal opinions, and specific strategy based on my case circumstances. His many years of experience and his earnest efforts to improve the legal framework of how DUI cases are handled also make him a formidable lawyer. He is a leader in DUI defense through hosting of professional conferences and as a certified instructor for field sobriety testing. He was always available to answer any questions and minimized my trips back for court appearances (since I was long distance). Lastly, he was very fair, honest, and transparent with his workflow and returned a portion of my payments with an itemized receipt.
After my first DUI arrest, I saw reviews on this website for Richard Holcomb, I decided to contact him for a consultation. He was very straight forward on what to expect in my case.
