About
Richard grew up in Mount Vernon, Washington. He graduated from Walla Walla University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He subsequently earned his teaching certification and taught high school, first in Hinsdale, Illinois, and then in Pasco, Washington. Having accomplished his first childhood dream of being a teacher, he moved on to his second childhood dream and attended law school at Seattle University, where he graduated in 2008.In October 2008, following graduation and the bar exam, he moved to Yakima and began his legal career as a deputy prosecuting attorney in the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. In the summer of 2009, he was promoted to handle felony prosecutions in Superior Court where he handled all varieties of felony prosecutions until he left the office for private practice in July 2011.Since that time, he has primarily focused on criminal defense, handling cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicide. He also helps people clear their criminal records, restore their firearm rights, and does some civil litigation.In the spring of 2017, Richard was named by the Yakima Valley Business Times as one of the best attorneys in the valley.
