Sherrie was my attorney for getting primary for my child custody case. She was excellent! She was well prepared, knew everything about my case, and said all the right things. I couldn't have asked for anyone to do a better job than she did. I was truly amazed at how professional and responsible she was. She helped me along the way, kept in touch and up to date about everything. She continuously reviewed my case and knew what she was doing the moment we stepped foot into the courtroom. I will be hiring her for all of my family matters, there's no one better!
My attorney,Sherrie Smith, has been very informative regarding my case. If I had questions regarding anything she was eager to answer them. Prior to each court hearing she would explain to me the details of what she was trying to achieve. I would definitely recommend her if someone needed legal counsel.
she has provided excellent service to my case. My questions are answered very well and she is easily accessible.
I was recently in a child custody dispute. I held off on hiring an attorney even months after the opposing party had already hired one. One because I was hoping that mediation would work and mainly because finding a good lawyer is overwhelming. Especially in a child custody case where you hear horror stories of fathers not receiving fair and equal treatment. For months I received threats from the opposing parties lawyer and after agreeing to an arrangement at mediation, received a letter stating they would not agree to mediation and threatening legal proceedings if I did not agree to their terms. I contacted Helms, Robison, and Lee where Sherrie works after being referred to her by a close friend. At the initial consultation with Sherrie, I was positive that I had to retain her as my lawyer. She was very confident and very knowledgeable. Upon retaining Sherrie, she immediately got to work getting information from me and sending demand letters to the opposing party as my son was being kept from me at the time. During this time I was very distraught due to the fact that I had seen my son almost every day until a few weeks before this time period. Sherrie was very reassuring and very diligent to make me feel like everything was under control. Not only by her words but her actions. If she did not have the answers to my question she would get back to me. Most of the time the same day. Sherrie always gives me plenty of time to prepare anything that she needs from me by letting me know months ahead of time about possible dead lines. She has always offered very sound advice while at the same time respecting and understanding what's important to me. Because of Sherrie's relentless but professional approach, we were able to settle out of court shortly before a temporary custody hearing. The settlement was very fair and the outcome was better than I initially could have imagined. Coming from somone that has never gone through anything like this and was scared out of my mind when I contacted Sherrie, I can promise you that she will lead you down the right path and will always have your best intrest at heart. You will never feel like you're out of touch with her and never feel like she's too busy to respond to questions or concerns. Contact her office today if you're looking for an amazing lawyer. I can promise you will not be disappointed.
I met with Sherrie to discuss a less typical family law situation. She made every effort to answer my questions, however, I found later that when pressed she had offered an explanation to a question that directly contradicts statements I have subsequently read for myself in the guidelines published by North Carolina. I think she was just unfamiliar with them, however, if a significant portion of your income is derived from helping people navigate these documents I think this is a problem (if only a completely human problem), and I wish I had known this BEFORE the consultation fee. As a point of fact, her answer to my question greatly embellished the amount of potential financial gain for litigation. I think that was an honest mistake and not meant to guide my decision to retain her services, however, I am glad I did my own research. I hope this information saves others some frustration.
