About

Ms. Storie joined the boutique family law firm of Turbull, Nicholson & Sanders, P.A. in March 2014. She is an experienced litigator with a primary focus in family law, including divorce, child custody disputes, child support, spousal support, asset division, petitions for protection from domestic violence, modifications, and the negotiation and drafting of marital separation and property settlement agreements. Ms. Storie understands the emotional and financial toll family law matters can have on clients, and whenever possible, works to reach a negotiated settlement without court intervention. When settlement is not possible, she is prepared to diligently litigate and advocate for her clients in court. Every case and set of circumstances is unique, and Ms. Storie provides personal attention and service to suit each client. Ms. Storie is very active in the Baltimore County Bar Association, serving as a member of the Young Lawyers Committee and Family Law Committee since 2008. She is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Baltimore Women’s Bar Association, Howard County Bar Association and Washington County Bar Association. Ms. Storie successfully completed collaborative practice training (March 2011), required to satisfy the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals standards for Collaborative Practice in family related disputes and 40 Hour Civil Mediation Training (March 2012) required to qualify her as a mediator for general civil litigation cases. During law school, she had the opportunity to serve as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Michael J. Finifter in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.

Alaina was very professional in the handling of my divorce. She was good at keeping me informed which in turn help me keep my emotions in check. The unknown can be the worst thing in stressful times.I believe Alaina truely cares about her clients.

Alaina was most knowledgeable and always there when questions needed answering right away in my divorce case. My divorce was not something that I wanted and Alaina always went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and be sure I understood what was going on and how things were going to be handled. I would recommend her services to everyone in need of a very informative and down to earth lawyer.

Alaina was quick to take her upfront fee and do the bare minimum to help me lose not one, but two hearings. All because she was too lazy, stubborn, and thickheaded to go the extra mile and take the extra steps to discredit the Petitioner. Alaina talked about subpoenaing records and talked a good talk, but when it came down to it she did not do what she said she was going to do. In fact, Alaina did very little but argue with the Judges about the interpretation of the law. A lot of why I am unable to see my children were removed from my home, etc has to do with Alaina's poor representation. If you are looking for someone who will stand up and FIGHT for your cause and be an advocate, then I suggest you keep looking. However, if you are looking for a passive attorney, someone to do the minimum and collect their fee without any remorse or concern. Alaina is your attorney.
