About
I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida and earned a law degree from St. Thomas University. In the past, I have represented real estate investors, real estate developers, construction companies, mortgage holders, lien holders, condominium associations, homeowners, corporations, individuals, landlords, tenants, and real estate professionals. After just 18 months of practice, I was asked to co-edit the escrows chapter of the Florida Bar’s manual on Real Estate Transactions published by Lexis/Nexis. And I was subsequently asked to co-author a chapter on transactions involving non-profit organizations. Shortly after beginning my career, I formed Raymond Carrero, P.A. and have been serving the South Florida community ever since with an eye toward unparalleled, personalized service. Indeed every client, every individual and every business is unique, which is why individualized attention is critical. Whatever their real estate or appellate needs, I am ready to serve and advocate for my clients. You can find more information on my practice at www.carrerolegal.com.

We needed help with a subcontractor that defaulted on his agreement and was threatening to put a lien on the project. Mr. Carrero promptly engaged and resolved the matter in a matter of days.
From a real estate perspective, we have exchanged many referrals and successfully helped many clients together. Mr. Carrero has always been responsive and well informed. I would eagerly refer any and all clients to him, and recommend him in all matters involving real estate.
I got the statement for my Company's Tangible Property Taxes and it was showing an incredible increase compared to the previous year. I immediately got in touch with Dr. Carrero who requested the documentation and reviewed the situation to file an appeal. He came with me to the office of the Miami-Dade Property Appraiser and helped me get the property tax reduced to the level I was paying before. Very professional and knowledgeable in all matters of Real Estate.
I hope this (current) review will be helpful for those considering good representation (it could have helped me). This lawyer could serve you well if you are seeking a legal form to be filled and filed with the court (or something straightforward), but if litigation is required, I think better counsel can be found. My mother and I had a straightforward conflict that needed legal resolution. A contract was in place that would quickly be resolved in front of a judge. The case took a year to resolve and cost us a small loss and legal costs. Throughout the case, he was never clear with us until he needed to be, instead informed us on a need to know basis. Usually his response to detailed questions was, “Let’s see what happens.” He allowed himself to be manipulated by opposing counsel several times even though I warned him practically each time. I still have many apologetic emails and recordings that testify to this, yet he was able to still charge us for his mistakes. In case you are wondering, why not fire him? I learned that lesson late. We believed in the case more than we did him and so was willing to see it through. That was a mistake on our part. The case was settled overall in our favor upon my insistence to go to court, though he was against doing so and on many occasions tried to have us settle. In the end it was clear he wanted to walk away once our money ran out. Instead of continuing to find money to pay him, it was best to be finished with him and take the small loss. In conclusion, regardless of how strong your case might be, under his representation you stand a chance to lose or settle. So beware and I hope this turns out to be helpful to someone.
