I am a criminal defense lawyer who practices in Iowa and Federal Court. I take the time to listen to my clients and zealously work to resolve their cases in the best way possible.I began my career as a bailiff for Judge Frederick J Martone in Phoenix Arizona in 1986. I worked at the Maricopa County Public Defenders office from 1987 to 1992 and then returned to Iowa.  In Iowa I have been an assistant county attorney, a Federal Public Defender and engaged in the solo private practice of law.In 2007 I started practicing immigration law with my criminal defense cases. After 11 years, I have decided to return full time to Criminal Defense, my first passion in the lawI am a member of the Iowa District 3B Judicial Nominating Commission, and a former member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance CommissionI am a past board member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers where I also Chaired the Indigent Defense Committee and am a life member of NACDLI am a former Chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Iowa State Bar Association and a former  member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter of AILA.I am involved in many community activities, boards and other local groups.  I have spoken to a number of groups on immigration and criminal law issues and have spoken at seminars on the local, state and national levels.
