About
My name is Pressley and I am a trial lawyer. The only thing I am before that is a father of my two sons. I have worked hard to live authentically in all aspects of my life. I always try to grow and learn. This has been true in my lawyering as well as my personal life – they are, in many ways, one in the same – because I am who I am, whether at home, meeting with clients, or in the courtroom.

My son got hurt at a Unv. Hospital 5 years ago, he had a surgery gone wrong and ended up with a Brain injury that caused him to no longer, talk, walk, eat on his own ect. Pressley is his lawyer. Pressley is so honest and down to earth. I know in my heart he really cares a lot about my son. I wish all lawyers and even people cared about the Special Needs world as much has Pressley does.
I got to know Pressley at Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming. Pressley has a very unique gift in the ability to connect with people. He is passionate about what he does and it shows in his work ethic. If you need an attorney in Iowa, Pressley is who you need to call. I cannot recommend him enough.
The care my mother received while in a nursing home fell below acceptable standards. I received a recommendation on him and I contacted Pressley. I spoke to him, explained my case, and provided him with some additional information and then retained him to represent us. I have found him to be very knowledgeable; compassionate; understanding and empathetic. He or his paralegal Kim are always accessible and helpful.
My father was the tragic subject of assisted living abuse at a facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Under the trusted care of his attendees they allowed him to lose over 40% of his body weight without alerting me of the problem. I live two thousand miles away and while I traveled to Cedar Rapids every three months to see my dad this situation evolved very rapidly - and wholly unexpectedly. On my last visit to see my dad I walked right past him and didn't recognize him. It was that bad. I took immediate action to help my father. I was, however, too late to save him. After several weeks of working day and night to help my father he succumbed to the effects of his abusive treatment at the facility and died. I was destitute. I loved and respected my father more than any person can possibly comprehend. Here is a man who fought for the freedoms we now enjoy and almost lost his life several times in battle. But now, under the trusted care of health care "professionals", he is neglected, wasting away, and sitting half naked in the lobby of the facility in his wheel chair, sitting in his own feces, as I walked in and didn't recognize him!!! After the shock of what happened I decided I simply could not allow this horrific treatment of someone else's parent be tolerated in Iowa ever again - EVER. I started an aggressive campaign with the State of Iowa. After several months of investigation the State of Iowa found the facility negligent and levied the most sever penalties the State can levy. I also realized, having spent my life in healthcare, that the operational managers and staff take their directives from their corporate owners: in this case, a very large corporation publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. I was surprised and frankly very disappointed almost every attorney I spoke with, in Iowa and several powerful firms outside of Iowa, were reluctant to take the case I knew had to be filed and litigated aggressively. Through this process, however, I was introduced to Mr. Pressley Henningsen, Esq. of Riccolo & Semelroth PC in Cedar Rapids. I flew to Cedar Rapids to meet with Mr. Henningsen personally. When I first met with him I knew immediately here was an extraordinary professional with not only the scholarly legal and litigation experience to properly execute adjudication of my father's tragic demise, but a man with uncompromising values and genuine outrage with the abusive treatment of the elderly. He shared my belief that my father's horrible end had to be brought before a judge and jury and, equally important, alert every person in Iowa to pay attention to the care of our elderly and seek to never, ever allow this abuse to happen again. Throughout the process I was extremely impressed with Mr. Henningsen and his team, and his partners at Riccolo & Semelroth. I've worked with many outstanding attorneys throughout my corporate life and none, and I mean this with all genuine sincerity, NONE could have been better counsel than Pressley. He and his team were the bulldogs in the pit I knew my father's legacy deserved to take on the corporate care-givers who neglected their responsibilities that directly led to the neglect and demise of my father. To this day, I can not thank Pressley, his team, and his firm enough for what they did for me and my family. They were there at a horrible time in my life provide the competent attention my father's negligent death required, and the thoughtful, humane, personal comfort I at times also needed. This was arguably the most difficult circumstance I had to face in my life, and without question the most devastating. Mr. Henningsen and his team were there and fully committed to do the right thing. And they did! Mr. Henningsen not only has my highest recommendation for his legal services that I can offer any attorney, he has my respect. Anyone seeking an attorney can be assured their interests will be effectively represented.
Will definitely use this firm again. Treated me with respect and walked me through the entire process of filing my lawsuit, Spoke to me using words and terms that "I" could understand.
Pressley was easy and keep me inform on my case and all I need to know and do.I am happy to have had him and will get him again if I will ever need a lawyer of his skill. I would also let others know that would be looking for a lawyer in his field.
I needed an attorney in the state of Iowa to represent my interests in an out of state auto accident.. Pressley Henningsen was very highly recommended by several people and did an outstanding job as my attorney.
I was very happy with my experience with Pressley. He was professional but easy to talk to and not intimidating. He did a great job explaining everything and answering all of my questions so I understood what was going on and what was going to happen at all times. He also was very easy to get ahold of and if I did have to leave a message he was very prompt at returning my calls. I would definitely recommend him.
Both Presley and paralegal Brandi were very professional and thorough. They always answered all questions and explained all aspects of my case.
My lawyer made me feel like I was a real person and that all that I had been through with my car accident, was important. To that point, I had felt so helpless, with all the medical bill coming in. I kept trying to pay something on all of them, but you eventually can't keep up. I had already struggled through the process getting my insurance to cover the total loss of my Jeep. (I would have rather had it fixed). But they totally it. It was just overwhelming, until Pressley Henningsen took over the day to struggles for me. It took a huge burden away, knowing someone had my back, and was working with these people on my behalf. I honestly don't think I would have made it through that tough situation without Pressley and his team! Thank you so very much!
