About

Having graduated from law school in 1993, I have been practicing law for more than 25 years, and solely in the area of family law for over 20 years.I have handled many complex/high asset divorce cases as well as high-conflict matters. It is my normal practice to suggest various options for reaching your personal and family goals in resolving your family separation and custody issues, while protecting your legal rights.I have personal experience with the divorce and custody process, (as I am a divorcee with two children), so I understand and can relate to the difficulties you are currently facing. The combination of my personal and professional experience motivates me to inspire positive resolutions that empower my clients to see their way forward in a wholistic and positive manner.Whether you are the WIFE or HUSBAND, MOTHER or FATHER, I will share my extensive experience (both personal and professional) to identify options that will help you forge forward to create a better and healthier situation for you and your children. My motto is “Make Change Through Integrity and Civility.”Experience has taught me that most of the time, there IS a decent and principled way to change your current situation and move on!I CAN’T WAIT TO ASSIST YOU WITH YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION!!-PJ

Ending a marriage after nearly 30 years was the most painful thing I've ever had to do in my life. While PJ was very professional and did a great job of looking out for my rights, she was also very compassionate. I truly felt like she cared about me as a person, not just as another client. If you'd like a lawyer who will help you get through what is for most people a totally miserable experience, you won't find a better person than PJ. Let her take care of all the hassles and move on with your life!

My daughter was involved in a very difficult situation which included my granddaughters and a Florida CYFD (equivalent) case. The court in Florida required that my daughter be divorced before they would close the case. The situation was very difficult given that the father/husband was in jail and difficult to deal with. Timing was critical in that the case had been pending for over a year and another court date was rapidly approaching. I hired P J Hartman, explained the urgency and she and her team quickly went to work. They took a personal interest in the case and worked diligently to get it resolved. They went over and above any expectation; they even went as far as meeting with the father/husband in jail to get him to sign the required documents. This was no easy task but they got it done. In addition, they followed the paperwork closely through the system to ensure every step was completed and in compliance. In the end, we were able to get the required documents to the Florida Courts and I'm happy to report that the Judge in Florida closed the case this past week. My granddaughters are FREE again and I am extremely grateful for PJ and her team; they are a remarkable team. I recommend them highly.

Counselor Hartman handle a visitation case for me. Instead of fighting she took the "compromise" approach. I wanted my day in court and the judge to hear my argument. The same could of been accomplished with "mediation" for far less than $5K. If the need arises that I need a lawyer, I would find someone who is aggressive.

Pleas don't waste your money. She showed up late and announced she had to leave early if possible...would have been better off by myself.
