I hired Mr. Covington for a DWI. This was my second one so I knew I needed help or I was going to jail. We had a trial and Mr. Covington got the judge to throw the case out because the police didn't have a good reason to stop me. He did an awesome job! The lawyer I had for my first case didn't even try to defend me, he just said I had to plead guilty. Mr. Covington went over my case with me and told me exactly what we could do at trial and it worked.

Mr. Covington was a court appointed attorney for me in a personal property damage case back in 2009. I understand I didn't pay him anything, but at least do not have the plaintiff's interest more at heart than mine. That goes against the merit of being a attorney. He spoke more with the plaintiff's than me and I felt like I was unrepresented. I believe he took advantage of the fact that I was a 19 year-old kid, and the plaintiff's were at least twice my age, so I believe he felt that they were more valuable from a networking point of view. Now that I'm older I see exactly what he did, and it is not plausible. I'm in a client-based business too, and I would never go against the fiduciary responsibility of my client, regardless of how well-known the person is on the other side of the table.
