Paul J. Fraidenburgh focuses his practice on representing clients in complex litigation and regulatory affairs. Mr. Fraidenburgh has argued and won in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and has served as lead trial counsel in California and elsewhere. Mr. Fraidenburgh’s litigation practice includes federal aviation regulations, class actions, intellectual property disputes, unfair competition claims, cases under 42 U.S.C. section 1983, regulatory challenges, commercial contract disputes, and cases involving government agencies.Mr. Fraidenburgh has gained a national reputation for his representation of clients in the aviation and aerospace industry. The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and several other publications have quoted Mr. Fraidenburgh on legal issues in the aviation and aerospace industry. He currently serves as Co-chair of the firm’s Aviation Practice Group.Highlights of his recent work include:● Briefed, argued, and won a sweeping victory in the Ninth Circuit dismissing 8-figure claims against a public airport in November 2017.● Successfully served as co-lead trial counsel in an 8-figure jury trial.● First-chair and second-chair trial experience in recent bench and jury trials.● Won summary judgment in federal court on claims asserted under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.● Successfully defended an international retailer with over $2B in annual revenue against unfair competition and trade secrets misappropriation claims.● Handled a federal investigation and negotiated dismissal prior to the filing of a bet-the-company enforcement action.● Served as lead counsel in federal litigation with the United States government in a dispute over airspace rights.Mr. Fraidenburgh has also served as an active member of several firm committees.
