A Marin County native, Mr. Smith was mayor of Tiburon in 2006. He was elected to the Tiburon Town Council in 2003 and served on the Tiburon Design Review Board and Planning Commission. He is also a former co-chair of the real property section of the Marin County Bar Association. He is married, with two children.
