I write this review as a Retired Army Sergeant First Class, "Wounded Warrior." First, I did not hire Attorney Ylvisaker, my spouse did. I'm writing this review as my ex-spouse's opposing representation. This 5 star review may come off as "strange" from the opposition during a divorce case. Although, as a former Army Senior Non Commissioned Officer/War Veteran, my vigilance caught many positive attributes with this man. Attorney Ylvisaker is an excellent lawyer, and also holds the military values that were instilled into him with high regard. Attorney Ylvisaker knows what "right looks like." My spouse stated many false accusations of me, that were proven unsubstantiated. Irregardless, Attorney Ylvisaker put up a good argument. During the "discovery phase" of my former spouse's and my litigation, Mr. Ylvisaker learned the whole truth, and help convince my ex-spouse to come to a mutual agreement, in which we did. Irregardless of the outcome, Attorney Ylvisaker accomplished something I could not for years, he convinced my former spouse to get mental health counselling. For that, I am truly greatful. It may seem strange after everything that was said and done; in the end, I still care about my ex-wife. The future of my children's, my ex-spouse, & I now looks brighter. Even being Attorney Ylvisaker's opposition, I respect this man's integrity and values. My advise to those who hire Attorney Ylvisaker, tell him the whole truth. Do not make unsubstantiated accusations out of spite. He will put up an honorable argument on your behalf. Attorney Ylvisaker, I know we couldn't speak to one another, being your opposition, and having obtained my own legal counsel but, I truly thank you for helping my spouse towards getting the help she needed. We are on good terms now, and has taking a positive roll towards co-parenting our children with me. One day, I'd like to shake your hand.
Paul is a great lawyer that provided a service that felt was only available for high end clients. He does not have employees or legal assistants, so you work directly with him on everything. He answers your calls and quickly replies your messages; there is no one else involved or in between your communications or the process. It is a very gratifying feeling having a direct line to him at any time. I am extremely satisfied with my decision to have him represent me for my divorce. He was able to articulate everything to me so it made sense in a way I was able to understand it. He always ensured I was in the loop with what was going on, where we were in the process, what was on the horizon, and what to expect. In addition to all that, Paul has a military experience that is invaluable to service members. If you are in the military or have any military benefits on the line, you need to retaining his services. Whether you are military or a civilian, I highly recommend!
I have not had much experience with lawyers. However, The nightmare stories I have heard over the years from friends and co-workers really made me a skeptic. Paul was there for every step from the time I realized I was over my head. Leagaly I was uneducated on my rights when before the judge at the initial hearing. Pail stepped in late in the process and was with my wife and I all the way to the end he was awesome!! Thank you!! Benton and Michelle
I contacted Paul Ylvisaker several days after receiving notice that my wife was filing for divorce. Ylvisaker was not the first lawyer I interviewed and consulted, but he will be the last. It was immediately apparent that Ylvisaker was very knowledgeable and well-experienced in matters of divorce and family law. Just as important, Ylvisaker has helped to alleviate many of my worries. Our discussions have always been comfortable and constructive.
Due to a conflict of interest with my previous lawyer I was referred to Paul and his team at Pahl and Associates. From the beginning to the final court document, I was really happy and relieved to have them on my side. The communication was great and consistent, and I always knew what was going on with my case. Hopefully I don't need a lawyer again, but if I do I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call.
I had been going through a divorce for most of 2020. It had been mostly done by me or by the help of others more experienced. After a nasty incursion with my ex-wife I started looking for a lawyer. I emailed Mr. Ylvisaker via Justia lawyer services, he got back to me first thing the next morning. After contacting lawyer after lawyer for an entire day, I hired Mr. Ylvisaker. He was the only attorney I had contacted who seemed to care about my case. My case was not very complicated. However, Mr. Ylvisaker did not seem to care about whether or not there was more money in it for him or not. I believe he took the same amount of care in my case that he would have had it been a very complicated case that would have kept him busy for longer than mine did. Mr. Ylvisaker was also easily reachable, and equally easily to talk to. Navigating the legal system can be a nightmare as I found out, but Mr. Ylvisaker explained things to me that were otherwise hard to understand just by reading, in a way that made perfect sense to me. Mr. Ylvisaker lifted a gigantic burden off of my shoulders and I am extremely grateful for the services he had provided to me. As of the end of 2020 I am now finally divorced, and can ultimately get my life back on track to where it should have gone. For service members reading this review, I am telling you right now, look no further than Paul Ylvisaker. He is your man! I’d give Him 6 stars if it were a option but unfortunately It is not! Thank you again Mr. Ylvisaker!
He was positive when I started with him and communicate what happened in my case
After losing my first lawyer, paul Ylvisaker stepped up to the plate with no knowledge about my case. He stayed positive throughout the entire case and also gave me advice. Paul would hand out advice to better help you as an individual, he also gave the resources needed. Although i do not know many lawyers, he is the most respectful one i have ever encountered. He does the job you ask him to do and more!
Paul assumed the responsibilities of my case after I fired my previous attorney and my only regret is that I didn't find him much sooner. During our initial consult he listened! He let me tell my story and the difficulties I was facing and most importantly he managed my expectations openly and honestly. His ability to understand your priorities, work tirelessly on your behalf, and provide you with consistent and timely updates is unmatched. Sometimes you just want to be heard in court and Paul's your man to do it. I understood that some of my requests could potentially be shot down - he gave me the pros and cons to bringing them up, but ultimately let the decision be mine and that was refreshing. At the end of the day I'm finally divorced and most importantly, I have joint custody of my beautiful little girl. I couldn't be happier.
Paul helped me with a divorce from the most selfish woman that i had ever met. This was not a easy feat to say the least. He did a amazing job of advising me, let me know what i was looking at post-divorce ,and advising me on the best way to get out of it quickly, easily, and with as little stress and cost as possible. He always kept in contact with me on a frequent basis. His patience and understanding in my case was a lot better than mine and he was able to keep me calm concerning issues of custody ,property, and cost. I would recommend Paul Ylvisaker to anyone who maybe seeking a client first, no nonsense, lawyer professional. Joe A. Thomas USMC
