I own a bait and tackle shop, and Mr. Reasoner being an avid outdoorsman, had been a regular customer of mine. Never being in trouble with the law or seriously injured I had never needed a lawyer before. Until one cold winter morning, I made my regular stop at a local gas station for some coffee before heading to work. I parked where I had always parked for years ( near the front entrance doors ). Upon exiting my vehicle, even before I could let go of the door handle I found myself on the ground in agonizing pain. Long story short, I had stepped out onto 'Black Ice' and ended up breaking my leg in 2 places ( bi-malleolar fracture ). As a sole proprietor of a small business, and no other means of income I was faced with losing my business and possibly my house - that is until I remembered Paul telling me that he specialized in personal injury and I gave him a call. The very next day, Paul actually came to my house ( an attorney that does house calls? ), and we went over the events in detail of exactly what happened that fateful morning. Within a day or so Paul had come over to my house again and informed me that although I was not covered under my personal insurance policy, he found a little sub-section of some article or another in my auto insurance policy that entitled me to total reimbursement! That's right, Paul's expertise and due diligence found a small sentence or two that covered my injury under my auto insurance - seriously, who would of thought of looking at an auto insurance policy for a slip and fall? Paul Reasoner, that's who ! I can assure you no other attorney would have gone over my policy with a fine toothed comb or even look at my auto coverage like Paul did, to find this little nugget of good news. Paul was relentless, first going after my auto insurance to make sure that I didn't lose my business, going to the gas station and taking photos of the leaky gutters and downspouts, preparing for a lawsuit against the gas station for not salting the entrance ( in fact, they didn't even have salt the day of my accident and resorted throwing out some kitty litter before the police and ambulance arrived ). Needless to say, within a week or so, the checks started coming in from my auto insurance company. I can tell you Paul is not in this profession just for the money, he called me daily to see how I was feeling and made several more house visits to check on me and keep me company. He did all this without asking for a dime, and before you say he was thinking about the larger picture ( his cut of the actual lawsuit ), Paul had advised me that with the Open and Obvious laws in Michigan, that we would most likely lose if we took this to court. Paul was doing this because he actually cares about his clients and their needs. Paul kept on my auto insurance company like no other, making sure that I not only was compensated for lost income, but also my wife was reimbursed for her time off of work to take care of me, and also made sure they paid every single cent of my medical and therapy bills. If not for Paul, I would have surely lost my business ( and most likely my house ) and would still be in debt due to the mountain of medical / therapy bills. When it came time for the actual lawsuit against the gas stations insurance company is where Paul really showed me the difference between an attorney and a true professional lawyer. He had already informed me of the chances of taking this to court ( and the opposing lawyer knew this too ), but Paul was aggressive in his negotiations for a settlement, declining and re-negotiating until we both felt that the settlement was more than fair. I can't guarantee you the same results as mine, as the insurance companies have become even more evil then they were 12 years ago - but I can guarantee you that you can't go wrong by calling Paul Reasoner first, even before you call your insurance company. In conclusion, Paul is a straight shooter, honest, professional and is highly recommended.
