About
Appellate work is very different from trial work. Though an appellate advocate should be a competent trial attorney, not all trial attorneys should be appellate advocates. Paul Croushore's overall successful direct appeal reversal rate is 39.6% as of July 10, 2020.Only 6.3% of federal criminal appellate decisions are reversals nationally, but Paul's reversal rate for defendants on federal direct appeals is 42.4%.At the state level, 17.6% of civil appeals result in reversals by the court of appeals for Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Ohio; Paul has succeeded 44.4% of the time in getting the trial court reversed in state civil cases. In criminal cases he has similarly secured reversals of the trial court's decision in 44.0% of criminal direct appeals, compared to the Cincinnati average of 10.6%.Technical skill, while important, is not enough. There are many competent lawyers, but only a few who succeed in convincing appellate judges to make their trial court colleagues re-try or revise a case that has been decided. Very few are willing to discuss their success rates or publish all of their appellate decisions for your review on his website, www.paul-croushore.com. Paul is admitted in the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Federal Claims, U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Fifth, Sixth, and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal, as well as the federal and state trial courts of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. Paul is an Author for Moore's Federal Practice, Chapters 208 - Complex Appeals, and 207 - Practice in the Federal Circui

Dear Reader, I was humbled when Dr. Croushore accepted my case. Please allow me to explain. I believe that many would have looked down me, not accepted my case, Or charged me Over Abundantly in attorney’s fees simply on, prima facie (at first glance), due to the nature of my convictions without hearing the full details. Dr. Croushore, however, impartially heard my pleas for assistance, looked beyond the superficial elements of my case and represented me in an extraordinary fashion. It was a rare privilege to have Dr. Croushore represent me as an advocate of Justice for Humanity. My family and I thank Dr. Croushore for his extraordinary efforts, tenacity for details and fortitude to stand up for what is right. Respectfully, J.Roper
I hired Paul to help me with an appeal. His ability to very quickly grasp a complicated case that had already been going on for years was amazing and reassuring. I am not a fan of lawyers after what happened to me and Paul helped restore my faith in the legal profession.
Paul came highly recommended, from several attorney friends. After I lost a 7 year court battle, that should have never been filed with 2 Big Cincinatti Law Firms, I hired Paul to handle my Appeal of this 7 year nightmare . Mr. Croushore understood, right away, where my previous 4 attorneys made grave errors in my initial defense. Paul quickly put my mind at ease when he identified several major errors my previous defense made, during my initial consultation. After 3 months working with Paul Croushore, he argued my case in front of the judge and had the judge reverse the previous decision, ending my 7 year battle VICTORIOUSLY!!! I can’t emphasize enough how brilliant of a lawyer Mr. Croushore is! In my opinion, Paul is one of the best and brightest attorneys in the Tri-State. If needed, I would hire Paul again, in a heartbeat! Absolutely the BEST!!!
My family had discussed the very thing he added to my initial question without knowing we even had that discussion. It was timely, effective and greatly appreciated because it was the part we were still questioning about the same concerns that encouraged us to reach out for legal advice in the first place. Wonderful! Thank you again!
Paul is knowledgeable of the law, and resourceful. He handles my case as though I was family. I don't worry about am I in good hands because he's earned my trust.
We hired Paul Croushore a year ago to represent us in a civil matter regarding a real estate contract. Paul has proven himself to be a fighter in the courtroom. He knows the law like the back of his hand. He is not afraid to stand up to co counsel, prosecutors or judges that fail to do their job ethically. He avoids the messy political drama that commonly affect an attorney's ability to work hard for their own client. Paul uses brilliant legal strategies to protect his clients during depositions and litigation. Paul takes the time to listen to our concerns and offers us choices when it comes to settling, litigating or appealing. We have been so impressed with Paul's skill set that we have hired him to represent us in a criminal case involving a misdemeanor as well as a civil case against a former employer for wrongful termination and defamation. Paul is experienced in all facets of the law and works tirelessly for his clients. Paul calls/ emails us back promptly and spends as much time as we need answering questions about our case. He is meticulous when it comes to record keeping and billing which was very important to us.
The case Paul handled for me was complex by government design. I had been acquitted, but the government appealed by taking a position contrary to what it claimed at trial. The acquittal was reversed. I hired Paul to appeal that ruling. He worked hard. He billed reasonably. We worked closely together. In the end, he refuted the government's case sufficiently that the appellate court ignored the arguments of both sides and unilaterally declared a new crime that was never indicted, never tried, and was in fact contrary to what the government claimed and what the evidence showed. So, I went to prison illegally in early 2010. I served the sentence, but the petition challenging my imprisonment is still before the court, over five years later. Paul did an excellent job. We all underestimated the integrity of the court.
