About

My experience as a Registered Nurse gives me unique insight on the importance of planning for unexpected future medical events.  Ensuring your medical wishes are followed is crucial, and can only be guaranteed through the use of Living Wills and Health Care Powers of Attorney.People often fail to plan ahead because they think their family knows their wishes.  However, it's just not possible to predict what medical procedures and diagnoses are going to be available when the unexpected strikes.  I've seen too many families struggle with grief and guilt while making life-changing decisions for their loved ones because they never anticipated or talked about the variety of medical treatements available.  Don't let unexpected life events take you by surprise!  Your family deserves to know how you feel about the type of medical care you want to endure and they need to have clear guidance and authority to act on your behalf if you are unable make your wishes known.  The best way to do this is through a living will and health care power of attorney.  Don't wait until it's too late!  By the time you need it, you won't be able to create it.
