About
Patterson Weaver was born in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating high school, he attended Penn State University, where he majored in Political Science with minors in both Religious Studies as well as Economics. During this time period, Patterson's interests were in off-roading (and anything outdoors) as well as doing youth ministry with Young Life, an organization dedicated to Christian outreach to teenagers. After graduation, Patterson attended Duquesne University, where he studied for his Masters of Science in Secondary Education (M.S.Ed.) and was named a Dean's Teaching Fellow. Out of a love for the mountains and the outdoors, Patterson then moved to Colorado and taught High School Social Studies in Westcliffe, Colorado, for three years. The school’s chapter of the National Honors Society honored him as the Teacher of the Year in just his second year. While Patterson loved teaching high school students, needing a new challenge, he applied to and was accepted into the Law program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Patterson excelled in law school, both academically and in extracurricular activities. Patterson graduated in the top 20% of his class, while participating heavily in Mock Trial and Moot Court activities of all varieties. Patterson competed and placed highly in a number of intra-school Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions, including winning the Hoffman Cup Mock Trial Competition, DU Law’s most competitive and prestigious trial competition. Patterson also placed second in the ABA Negotiations competition, and very highly in a number of additional trial, motions, and appellate competitions. Due to his extraordinary success in intra-school competitions, Patterson was selected for the ABA, AAJ, and NACDL traveling trial teams, on which he performed with distinction against some of the most talented young trial-oriented law students in the country. Additionally, Patterson was selected for the DU Law ABA Regional and National Negotiations Teams. Patterson and his negotiations partner finished first in the West Coast Regional Competition as well as ninth nationally. Perhaps the greatest honor Patterson received in law school was when his peers, the law school student body, selected Patterson as the school's Most Outstanding Barrister for 2008-2009.However, Patterson’s success in law school was not limited to competitions. While in his second year at DU Law, Patterson was recognized by the Criminal Law Clinic with the Outstanding Student Award for his tireless and successful efforts in defending indigent clients in low-level criminal cases. Patterson was also awarded two Scholastic Excellence Awards, one for obtaining the highest grade in Torts and another for obtaining the highest grade in Trial Practice. In his third year of law school, Patterson worked as a Trial Intern for the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted traffic and misdemeanor cases and tried 18 cases, obtaining a trial record of 15-3.During law school, Patterson met his beautiful wife Michelle, a teacher and resident of Colorado Springs. After graduation, Patterson moved to Colorado Springs and obtained a position as a County Court Deputy District Attorney with the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and traffic cases of all varieties. Patterson quickly rose to the position of a Felony Prosecutor, and handled a large variety of felony cases with great success. While with the 4th District DA's Office, Patterson was awarded the Complex Prosecution Award by the Pikes Peak Region DUI Taskforce for his work preparing for and trying a Shreck hearing on the admissibility of Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) testimony in DUI trials. Patterson won the hearing, which resulted in a thorough model transcript and court order on the admissibility of DRE testimony still provided to young county court prosecutors statewide by the Colorado District Attorney’s Counsel. In 2011, Patterson took his experience as a felony prosecutor into private practice, working as a Criminal Defense Attorney for a fairly large local firm, where he represented clients in cases ranging from high level felonies to municipal court speeding tickets to pursuing and defending against protection orders. Patterson left the firm in late 2012 to open his own law practice, Patterson Weaver Law, LLC, where he can better limit his caseload to address the individiual needs and situations of each infividual client. Patterson currently enjoys representing clients in criminal and dui defense, personal injury, and probate administration/litigation. Patterson is dedicated to tailoring his representation to the needs of each individual client, and would look forward to the opportunity to speak with you about your own legal issues. If Patterson Weaver is unable to help you with your particular issue, he will help you find someone that can.

Patterson Weaver helped us on a difficult case. We are out of state and were dealing with a county in Colorado that was secluded and non responsive to us. He gave expert advice and dealt with the matter promptly and professionally. I’m incredibly grateful for his help and would highly recommend this firm. We were lost in the legal system and he grabbed our hand and got our heads above water. His assistant was also amazing and kind. Thank you!
Patterson was very thorough in his work and personally supportive in my case. Great communication, easy to reach, gave great advice, and still promised to do the job he was hired to do, judgment-free (and he did!). As the victim in a DV case, I felt taken care of and learned a lot about my rights. In the chance I'd ever need a DV attorney again, Patterson Weaver would be my first choice.
I hired Patterson Weaver for some trouble my daughter got into while visiting Colorado. Mr Weaver and his staff were very knowledgable about criminal law. Mr. Weaver obtained a great result for us. He was extremely fair with his fee arrangement. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a criminal attorney.
No one likes having to hire a Criminal Defense Lawyer. Believe me I sure didn’t. Patterson was a very good choice for me. He is very passionate and cares about those he represents. You may not get the outcome you want. Everyone including myself everyone wants a not guilty verdict or charges dropped. Patterson will not sugar coat your situation. He tells you straight up like it is and he’s very forth coming. Always remember that the DA doesn’t care about you or what negative consequences their actions will have on you and your family. All they care about is a win. No matter how many disgusting or low handed tactics they use, all they want is a charge to stick, even if it’s not what you were originally charged with. They just want that win. I can assure you I got the best outcome that Patterson could get in my situation and I am very pleased with my representation.
After being injured in an auto accident I consulted with several attorneys.. Pat Weaver's team was the only firm to get a satisfying result for me. I highly recommend them.
I hired Patterson to handle a personal issue for me, he and his staff were friendly, helpful and afforadable as compared to other attorneys that I consulted with. He handled the issue in a timely matter not rescheduling and putting over court dates and he was able to get all the charges dropped, which I am forever grateful.
After an unfortunate incident in which a superfluous act lead to mandatory domestic violence charges, Patterson picked through an absolute quagmire of communicative difficulties, uncertain opposition, and insurmountable legal roadblocks to get me the most favorable outcome possible. After two days in jail, I watched as Patterson, whom I had yet to even speak to, swooped into the court room and immediately went to bat for my rights. From then on, over the course of half a year, Patterson maneuvered around every obstacle. Using his vast knowledge of the law alongside his intricate understanding of the nuances of the El Paso County courts, Patterson managed to get my case dismissed and sealed despite the State's "no-drop" mandate in D.V. cases. The honest truth is that the law is not black and white. Patterson made it clear that he knows a great deal about the grey. When I was distraught, he reassured me that a favorable outcome was still on the horizon. When I had questions, he gave me frank and descriptive responses. There was no sugarcoating, but there was always optimism. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Patterson S. Weaver III as your go to criminal defense attorney. He will work tirelessly to get you best possible result in your case. Trust in his experience.
Patterson Weaver III ESq. is an experienced and altogether amazing attorney. His well established knowledge, abilities, resourcefulness, and hard work provide excellent results for his clients, us included. We are well familiar with the courts and thus were confident with him from day one. He goes above and beyond for his clients and treats them like family. We found him to be a great attorney and also a very fine man. We are in his debt for his non stop and successful efforts on our behalf thus lifting a heavy weight from our shoulders. He has truly been a blessing for us!
Patterson Weaver is an honest, direct, no-nonsense person who will give you the representation that you require. I liked his direct approach, letting me know exactly what charges I was facing, and telling me how to get the best possible outcome for myself, without allowing me to "wallow" in the wrongful aspects of it. In his office atmosphere, he was caring, compassionate, and without judgment. He is easy to talk to, and I always felt like he understood my side of things. In the courtroom, he supported me with his kind, but candid approach, and his knowledge of all the legalities of my case. I felt like he represented me well, and went above and beyond what I would have asked for myself. Even though it was a municipal issue, it was well worth every penny I spent, knowing that I had someone watching out for all of my interests through the entire legal process. He helped me get the entire thing dismissed then asked for it to be sealed, based on my job description and how this could affect my position in the future. I received the best possible outcome and I wholeheartedly thank him for it.
I was wrongfully acused of domestic on my wife . The moment I spoke to Patterson on the phone I knew my case was on good hands . He is an outstanding attorney. Took care of my case an got me a dismissed and sealed case solution. I will highly recommend his service to anybody on a need of an attorney. 5 stars out of 5
