Several years ago, I found myself in need of a lawyer. Until that time, I had no experience dealing with lawyers and didn't want any. What I knew about lawyers was based on what I'd seen on TV. Guys in suits, working in a funeral home type environment, people talking in low voices, fancy offices & everyone looking uncomfortable. When my little home based business started growing, a friend told me I needed to form an LLC and suggested I call Patrick. When I got to his office, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the uptight, high browed environment I expected. Patrick wasn't wearing a coat & tie and I didn't feel like I should whisper. Instead of sitting behind an ornately carved desk in a high backed leather chair, looking down on me, he sat in a chair while I sat on a sofa. He didn't talk down to me as though I knew nothing of business. Instead, he asked about my family and my work and was genuinely interested. Had it not been for the notebook in his hand that he occasionally wrote something in, I would have forgotten that this was business. One thing that impressed me was that his cell phone was on his desk. It buzzed several times while we were talking but he never once got up to see who was calling or text messaging him. After about 30 minutes, Patrick recommended a course of action which was a little different than what I was expecting, but after explaining it to me in terms I didn't need to be a lawyer to understand, I quickly understood the wisdom in his advice. The thing that surprised me the most however was him telling me that while he was happy to do the things he had recommended that I do, he actually told me that I could do those same things myself, online, and save myself a lot of money. I followed his recommendation and my company was soon born. I called Patrick again a couple of years later when we outgrew our space and needed a new location. He helped with the real estate transaction & some zoning issues. A year later when I decided to buy a competitor, Patrick was there to handle the buy/sell agreement, the non-compete and even suggested an alternative financing method that wound up saving me a good bit of money. Recently, it was my turn to be bought out. I again turned to Patrick. He made sure the deal was structured so that my taxes were minimized, he made sure that certain rights I wanted to reserve were protected, he insured that I was insulated from liability for any past, present or future actions of the business and he made certain that the sale agreement didn't prevent me from using my trade skills in the future, should I get tired of fishing and traveling and decide to go back to work. So for me, having to call my lawyer has not been something I dread doing. I know that Patrick will treat me fairly, he's not going to suggest a bunch of stuff that I don't need and his fees are going to be fair and reasonable, with no surprises. There are a lot of good lawyers in the area, but it you want someone you can trust, someone who is reliable and someone who treats you fairly and who you know is watching out for your interest, you can't go wrong with Patrick Henry!
When I was injured in an automobile accident, I contemplated calling one of the P. I. law firms that are constantly berating the public with their advertising. A friend referred me to Patrick & I'm so grateful for his services. Patrick is compassionate, articulate & most of all, attentive. He always returned my calls & kept me up to date on my case, until the very, successful end.
Patrick is an excellent lawyer who cares about his clients, and listens. His experience is clear. Couldn't be happier with a person to be a mentor, attorney and friend.
PATRICK was very thorough in assisting with the process of having a material lien removed from my home's mortgage/conveyance records. He is a very knowledgeable attorney who will give sufficient attention to any matter that he is hired to resolve.
Extremely intelligent and competent. Professional, yet not stuffy. Compassionate and empathetic regarding my situation. Very pleased with the outcome.
Good listener, responsive, straightforward. Knowledgeable of timelines (the real ones) and able to deal with challenging personalities without rancor.
Patrick provided quick and helpful consultation regarding labor-related issues. Thanks to Patrick, I was able to resolve the issue in a pain-free way that served both parties well.
