Pat Phillips does a great job of responding to questions, emails, phone calls. She is knowledgeable about the law and has a great rapport with many of the judges. I highly recommend Pat Phillips.

Pat Phillips and her associate Sanaea Daruwalla, took over my divorce case just over a year ago and just finished representing me in a convoluted, complicated, ugly, lengthy divorce and trial. The outcome is still pending from the judge, and so sure of her firm's contributions, I am willing to write this about her and her firm even before an outcome. Why? Because she represents her clients (male or female) with INTEGRITY, intelligence, strength, honor, leadership, guidance, expertise, kindness, respect, empathy, loyalty, honesty, and sincerity... Did I say integrity? There, I said it again. Integrity. There is no one better than Pat Phillips, period! Pat and her team of seasoned attorneys are experts at what they do, and her staff treats you with courtesy and respect. I would be homeless right now if it were not for the expert assistance from Pat, Sanaea, and the entire staff at Phillips-Jessner.

Pat handled a messy custody situation with empathy, intelligence, and close attention to detail. She clearly explained the possible outcomes upfront. After the papers were filed, she and my ex's attorney negotiated a stipulated order that I am extremely happy with. Now, every time a custody situation comes up with my ex, I am able to rely on that order instead of hiring an attorney or going back to court. I would highly recommend Pat and her firm.

I was looking to switch lawyers and a friend recommended this lawyer to me. I only had a phone conversation with Pat Phillips because she was honest enough to say that my case was simple and that she did not feel right to be charging the high rate she charges to someone who could be using a lawyer with a lower rate. She gave me all kinds of advise over the phone for free, however, and plugged in numbers and gave me estimates of how much support I was going to get, etc. She easily spent half hour on the phone with me, even if from the start she said my case was simple. II thought she was wonderful.

I have read that divorce attorneys and laws in California can be biased against men but did not believe it. My initial consult with Pat did not involve any advice about closing joint credit cards, bank accounts or how to protect myself. My ex is quite a spender who was spending huge amounts of money needlessly while we had college tuition, mortgage and taxes all due. I asked Pat about putting her on temporary spousal support, and she said it was too expensive to do that and the ex would get more money than she was spending. Due to that advice, the ex ended up spending over half my gross annual salary in 8 months, credit cards got maxed out, and my subsequent attorney had to fight to get the my reimbursement obligation repaid by the ex. When I finally did change, it turned out that the ex's temporary spousal away was 1/3 third of what she had been spending. So, Pat was wrong. Hundred of thousands of dollars wrong. She should stick to being famous and writing article and stop practicing since it does't appear that she cares about her clients. Maybe my case was such small peanuts that it didn't deserve attention.
