Kentucky does not certify specialties of legal practice.I am a  lifelong resident, of Louisville, Kentucky. I attended Presentation Academy and then went to the University of Louisville where I graduated with honors, receiving a bachelor’s degree. I continued my studies, graduating from University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law. No stranger to hard work and dedication, I put herself through college and law school; splitting my time between work and my studies. After being admitted to the practice of law, I served as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, rapidly gaining trial experience. Then I moved to the private sector where I continued gaining litigation experience in the areas of employment discrimination, contracts, insurance, personal injury, general business matters and complex litigation. I also practiced administrative law, putting my trial experience to good use at administrative hearings. For example, I began representing employers and employees in unemployment hearings and appeals during this period.After working at several boutique law firms, I opened my own practice. My  goal is to provide quality legal services for a reasonable fee. I am proud of the fact that I provide personal, high quality, legal services. My clients are never shunted off to a paralegal, secretary or junior associate. I carefully screen my cases and do not take every case that walks through the door. Potential clients are often surprised when they are told that their case will not be accepted.  I am committed to providing personal service and this requires that I limit the number of cases that I take; therefore, I focus on quality not quantity. I tell my clients that my policy is to personally return their call by the next business day – and this is what they expect. My experience and this practice model allows me to go toe to toe with the opposition on my clients’ behalf; even when the opposition hires a big, high powered law firm.I am also committed to keeping her clients involved and well informed about their case. I believe that effective litigation requires a team effort between the client and the attorney. I make the legal decisions, consult with and advise clients about the strengths and weaknesses of their case and make recommendations; but I always keeps in mind that this is the client’s case. I get know the law, but no one knows the facts of a case better than the client. Their information and input is essential to building an effective case.  While Kentucky law does not certify specialties of legal practice, I concentrate my practice on litigation, employment, business and probate law.
