At first I wasn't sure her being a public defender but I studied slot of case law before I met her the first time and I asked her if she had looked up any cases and found any that would help in MY defence and without hesitation she pulled out a legal pad and showed me some that she thought best fit my case and I showed her the cases I had wrote down there were the same and ever since then she has been doing a great job for me...PS ..Kay does a fantastic job there great attitude and very organized...she could get ahold of me for s very important ruling that needed my attention that day Kay walk down to where I worked to make sure I got the paperwork on time not any other lawyers office around here will do that for you...Thank you Kay, and to Pam I know all my cases are not done yet but thank you and keep up the good work and I know the Constitution is in your heart I know it's a small town but always keep standing up for the law even when you see the people who are spouse to be the ones who uphold the law abusing it and there power never stop helping the one getting abused by their injustice...great lawyer and help behind her thank you.....
Not worth money paid her by the state. She was against me for custody. Never visited my home where the children lived for over 10 yrs! Never talked to the children! Recommended the children returned to a mentally unstable, mentally abusive mother with a drug issue. I'm not mad because of my loss. She did NOT do her job for one second. And now two teens are suffering!
She was hired to handle a case of mine in 2010. I recently contacted her regarding that case. She told me that if I wanted to ask her a question I would have to retain her even though it was relating to a prior case I had paid her for. She hung up the phone on me after respectfully asking her a simple question. The only reason I had to call her is because she did my do her job correctly the first time. Very unprofessional, over charges for work she never even completed. If you want a good lawyer she is not the right person.
Did very little research on my case. Did not call witnesses in my case. Talked out of turn in closing arguments and judge was not happy with her over it. Did not cross examine witnesses on the states side. Did not return calls and do any follow up. Did not explain next step in case. Two weeks later after I was convicted there was a warrant issued for my arrest because she did not do basic things as an attorney such as set a date for sentence to be served or ask for extra time. She might be ok with something basic like having a will drawn up but if you need professional legal representation for something important I would not recommend her at all.
