Nigel represented my food service company against a competitor who claimed and threatened to file a copyright infringement case against us. They wanted a ridicules amount of money, copies of our financials and changes in our operation for settlement. He gave us sound credible advice and we began a negotiation with the competing company. After months of talks with this company, he took a firm stance on our position and we prevailed in the settlement. Not only did Nigel walk us through ever step but everything he said would happen did happen to the letter. The company did not get one penny from us. We did not have to provide copies of our financials or make any changes in our operation as demanded by them. They literally were trying to bully us with no real basis for the claim. Nigel exposed problems with their claim almost immediately and began preparing to counter sue them. After all the smoke cleared and Nigel put everything in perspective, they were lucky we decided not sue them. They were actually infringing on our copyright verse us infringing on theirs. We are at awe with his knowledge and experience. Nigel is a Harvard Educated well prepared Attorney. Having dealt with other attorney's in the past we have decided we will never accept anything less than an attorney of Nigel's caliber again.
Nigel offered advice on the proper licenses and permit required to open a food establishment in Washington, DC. He demonstrated clear mastery of the field and his advice was incredibly prompt. He was also quick to respond to follow up questions. Highly recommend.
I came to Nigel for a fair use letter concerning some remarks in a play I was writing. He provided a fair use letter at a fair price and even read the whole play, providing encouraging comments. Nigel is an attorney with a gentle and patient demeanor who listened to the specifics of my needs and approached the work with care.
My organization (see gfi.org) has been working with Nigel for going on two years; he has done significant legal research for us, has combed through vast quantities of FOIA records to find the most important information and synthesize it, has written both legal complaints against the government and a 40 page regulatory petition, has helped us construct our public talking points for various litigation and regulatory endeavors, and has conducted multiple interviews on our behalf. I cannot recommend him highly enough; Nigel is really just superb.
