I was charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly making threats in the workplace. This event never took place, as I was miles away from the office building at the time when this alleged (fictional) event took place. The allegations was made by a clerical staff with whom I have little contact. There were no witnesses. This delusional fabrication was probably orchestrated by my boss who felt too much competition coming from me, and wanted to have unlimited power. Amazingly, DA's Office decided to pursue the case without an iota of material or any other evidence, based solely on the allegation made by a secretary who has many personal and family issues, a very unhappy and bitter person. Nick collected all the facts, interviewed right people in preparation for the trial. He had several consultations with me, and prepared me well for the case. During the trial, Nick was eloquent, forceful but respectful. It was clear very early in the trial that the only outcome possible will be favorable to me. Nick dominated the trial as a lawyer. I would strongly recommend Mr. Nick Thornton as a criminal attorney to anyone in need of such legal assistance. He is a wonderful communicator, open, and never sugarcoating. You will know where you stand every step of the way. A++

Attorney Nicholas Thornton successfully resolved an identity fraud case involving an active warrant for me without me actually having to come to Fargo, ND in person. My True Identity fraud specialist suggested that I just go to Fargo, ND as soon as possible and surrender to the suspected charge without first consulting with and having a lawyer. It is good that I did not follow his suggestion. If I did, my life would have been in jeopardy for possibly years. On the other hand, just making a simple telephone call to Nicholas Thornton's office and providing him with my personal details to investigate the matter was all it took to resolve the criminal case. He simply spoke with the district attorney about the matter and the circumstances of how it all happened. Ultimately, he was able to get the district attorney to drop the charge, including the warrant within a week. This was all done at NO charge to me. It is good to know that there is still an individual out there today that is not motivated by money and greed. I really appreciate his effort in successfully and quickly resolving this criminal matter. I wish this particular attorney was licensed here in NY and the surrounding states. He would be the first attorney that I would recommend to anyone, including friends and family members, needing legal assistance. He appears to have a proven track record of successfully winning cases for his client and settling them out of court, therefore earning great honor, trust, and respect. He deserves a five-star rating and metal of honor.

Mr. Thornton told me any appeal of my conviction would be more or less futile. He did help me deliver a deposition that was made regarding my conviction to my probation officer. This cost me $90 but that was only the processing charge. Mr. Thornton did not make a dime. He has restored my trust in attorneys. Mr. Thornton could have asked for a large retainer and don nothing, like most attorneys. I am very glad to have contacted him, he was very prompt and helpful; and, as I said, he did not make a dime! My situation with the ND DOCR has changed. My trial attorney charged me 20,000 and did not even see that this important document went before the court. Thank you Mr. Thornton!

I was charged with driving on a suspended license in North Dakota District Court. Mr. Thornton explained to me exactly what my options were and how he could successfully obtain an agreement with the State's Attorney for a reduced charge carrying a far lighter sentence, and what I would be required to do in order to facilitate this. I did exactly as instructed, and he achieved the outcome exactly as promised. He knows the law, has a good working relationship with the State's Attorney's Office, and is able to explain things in a very easy-to-understand manner. I would rely on him for any and all legal needs.

I had multiple felony charges when I was to appear in court. I was extremely nervous and didnt know what to expect. All I knew is I wanted it to all go away and never commit another crime again. When I met with Nick Thorton before court on the phone, he was very helpful with helping understand all the options we could take. I told him that I was sorry that he had to waste time on a guy like me, and he assured me that I was not a waste of effort, but that he would help me get the help i truly needed. He made some arrangement with the court and got all but one felony dropped with no probation as long as I went to a treatment facility and stayed sober. This was two years ago, and I am happy to say that Nick's efforts on me and my case was not wasted. I am sober and now attending classes to become a pastor/teaching for the local church body. My family, children and I are all very happy today. Who knows what what would of happened if I would of went to prison. I'm glad Nick took an interest in me, and helped me get the help I needed.
