About

Nelson Tyrone devotes his practice to representing people who have been seriously injured and to representing families who have lost a loved as a result of another’s negligence. BackgroundMr. Tyrone is a graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia (CLA&S 1992) and received his law degree (with honors) from the University Of Georgia School Of Law (1998). Mr. Tyrone first practiced as an associate attorney with Atlanta’s pre-eminent criminal defense law firm, Garland, Samuel & Loeb, P.C. While an attorney with Garland, Samuel & Loeb, Mr. Tyrone represented clients in a variety of major felony and white collar criminal defense work in both state and federal courts and received acquittals from juries in a variety of major felony criminal prosecutions.   Among the cases he was involved in were the defense of Baltimore Ravens defensive back Ray Lewis and the defense of the United States Government's prosecution of the Gold Club in Atlanta, Georgia. After leaving Garland, Samuel & Loeb, P.C. he worked for Butler, Wooten P.C. in Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia working primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, aviation and auto products liability work. Since 2002 Mr. Tyrone has practiced as Nelson O. Tyrone P.C. – representing people who have been severely injured and families who have lost a loved one as a result of a Defendant’s negligence. He is very selective about the cases he is willing to take on as the time and effort involved with each client allows him to only represent a few clients at one time.   He is often brought in to cases by other attorneys to lead the trial of their client’s cases. He prepares every case for trial – believing that is the best way to obtain full justice for his clients. He has represented individuals in thirty-seven (37) jury trials in state and federal courts in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Nebraska, Mississippi, Ohio and New York.SpecialtiesNelson Tyrone devotes his practice to representing people who have been catastrophically  injured and to representing families who have lost a loved as a result of another’s negligence.  He is a guest lecturer on "Discovering the Story" of the trial, the use of focus groups in trial preparation, and the nerve disorder Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD).Mr. Tyrone is a founding member of the Red Clay Democrats of Georgia and is member of the Board of Covenant Community, a residential treatment home for men suffering from alcohol and drug addiction. Mr. Tyrone represents the men of Covenant Community pro-bono while they are residents of the treatment program.  In 2008 he completed his first Marathon in Birmingham, Alabama and his first Iron Man Triathlon in Tempe, Arizona.  He is married to Leslie Katharine Tyrone, an architect.  He has two daughters: McGowan who is nine years old and Leslie Munday (Munday) who is two years old, a lab (Beau) and mix (Emily).  They live in the Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta.

Mr. Tyrone is an excellent attorney. Unlike many others, he stands by his word and keeps you informed every step of the way. He represented me a criminal defense case and was extremely astute and became well respected in the Federal courtroom because of his knowledge of current law and outstanding professionalism.
