My experience was very positive maneuvering thru the legal system with Nate representing me. He was very knowledgeable, made me feel at ease and supported. I would recommend his services in such a high stress situation.
I was very happy with Nate’s ability to handle my case and represent me in court. He was very informative, clear and honest about how the case was going to workout.
I was at a court appearance without an attorney present. Mr Pliska was serving as a public defender in a variety of different cases on the docket that day. I applied for a public defender but I did not qualify and was denied. Nate took a couple of minutes of his own time to point me in a positive direction in order to get my matter resolved even though he didn't have to. We had a quick conversation out in the hall and I then had a clear path of what I needed to do and say when called in front of the judge. After receiving a future court date, I met with Nate briefly and hired him on the spot. Going out of his way to help me as well as the positive vibe I got from him made the decision easy for me. After our business was official, we met once in his office where he laid out a strategy of how we should proceed. I appreciated not having to make pointless trips to his office and using email and text messages was more than efficient for us to communicate after our meeting. Everything went according to plan and my situation was resolved in a much favorable way than I initially thought it would. I felt I was well represented and would definitely like to continue to keep Nate as my attorney.
He successfully got my charge and fines reduced. Very professional and knowledgeable. Provided realistic expectations of what to expect. Definitely recommend.
Mr. Pliska was retained by me in mid-to-late 2013 for defense of a DUI charge and subsequently a revocation of a deferred prosecution from 2008-09. He was very professional, knowledgeable and sincere in his efforts and concern regarding my case. This was extremely helpful and comforting during this extremely anxiety-filled time. He also explained, in plain English, what the charges were and what the possible outcome(s) might be. He was also thorough in explaining the legal process and what I should expect for the next few months. He kept me informed throughout the whole process, was easy to communicate with and was always available when needed - even with a heavy workload as a public defender. He even contacted me during the time I was not his client, which just speaks to his genuine concern about his clients, the legal process (which at times, is convoluted to say the least) and being a defense lawyer. I believe he did what he could given the circumstances of the case and that he vigorously defended me to the best of his ability. I believe I received the best sentence I probably could have and this is wholly attributable to Mr. Pliska's dogged efforts in my defense. I would highly recommend him and would have no qualms with working/hiring him again (which I hopefully never have to). Overall: extremely satisfied with his performance, responsiveness, knowledge, communication and abilities.
Nathan was my Public Defender for a DUI charge I was given. Being given a lawyer at random with something as serious as this charge made me really uneasy, esspecially after I've heard so many horror stories about Public Defenders being next to useless for the most part. As soon as I met Nathan he immediately started explaining to me what was going on, what was going to happen and what I should do in response, knowing that I knew nothing of the process he took the time to explain it to me and answer my questions. (Huge win in my book.) Not only that but he knew what he was doing and he showed it, witch put me at ease about the whole thing. Secondly he was very timely, punctual and would call me exactly when he said he would, like clockwork. As I said briefly in the first point, he was extremely knowledgeable in the law and the process, simplified it for me and told me plainly what needed to be done. Nathan knocked my charge down to a low misdemeanor and instead of $4,000+ in fines and fees and such, I took one class and paid a $500 fine and was done. Only critique I would have is he didn't seem too eager to work on my case, like I wasn't the most important thing on his mind when he was counselling me but in his defense he had more cases then I could count in his hands and I didn't pay a dime for his awesome service. I would hire Nathan again in a heartbeat if needed which is hopefully never.
