Nate represented me in a limited role, consulting with me as I prepared for my divorce trial a few years back. He was professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend him if you need an attorney in any family law matter. I also know that among other family law lawyers he is well respected.
After my ex-wife married a millionaire, I hired Nathan to help me end the alimony I’d been paying since the divorce. In my original divorce case, I’d had a lawyer who had purported to work for men, but he’d only been there for the paycheck and had gotten me a bad deal, one that required me to increase alimony payments as the years went on. When it came time to file for termination of alimony, I hired a lawyer to handle the case, but after three months of next to no progress, terrible communication, and misrepresenting the status of the case, I fired him. I researched several law firms and contacted a few. From the moment I spoke to Nathan, I knew he was the right guy for the job. I wanted someone who was an excellent communicator (incredibly important since his predecessor was almost impossible to get ahold of), understood the nuances of alimony termination, and was willing to fight for me. Nathan hit the nail on the head in every regard. He always responded to my calls and emails, and often times, he reached out to update me on the status of the case on his own. During the deposition, he caught my ex in several lies and used that to played hardball with her attorney. He got us a fair deal, and now I no longer pay alimony to the wife of a millionaire. Lastly, he understands that legal representation is expensive. Instead of shrugging at the cost and holding his hand out for more money, he let me do some of the heavy lifting. He encouraged me to participate in every aspect of the case and allowed me to save thousands by doing certain things myself. While no one wants to hire a lawyer and pay the fees associated with it, Nathan is worth the investment. In the long run, hiring him will save you money and headaches. I HIGHLY recommend Nathan at Holtey Law.
I found that shopping for attorneys is like shopping for cars everybody wants to tell you on something. I was referred to Nathan by a lawyer friend of mine who practices a different area of law. Nathan specialized in the type of thing that my ex through against me. I made the appointment with Nathan and screwed up the initial consultation by coming a day early but Nate dropped a conference call and met with me to look over my paperwork despite his busy schedule. 24 hours later we did the full consultation and I expected Nate like the other attorneys promise to put the "system on trial" and whatever fire and brimstone speech that comes with a selling point. Much to my surprise, he did not try to sell me he was very realistic and pragmatic about how to resolve my case and told me how they usually go because he had handled over a hundred of the cases like mine. This made a impression on me and I was well aware that I went to an attorney that would work hard in the things that we could actually control in my case (which we won) furthermore, Nathan actually referred my case to another attorney in his firm who specialized in the county that I was working on my legal issue in. The attorney actually Cost less than Nathan's hourly rate so this saved me a ton of money. It showed me a lot when he delegated to somebody who knew better than him about my County when he could have wasted my money because he charges more. Instead I got the more knowledgeable attorney about my issue and a cheaper hourly rate! Nathan and Holtey law in general is about getting the right result, setting realistic expectations for their clients, and overall trying to save you money and what can be a costly Affair no matter where you go in the Portland metropolitan area. I hope I never have to hire a lawyer again but if I do it would be Nathan or Holtey law
Nathan and his whole team handled my situation in the most professional, honest, timely, and cost effective, manner possible. All while being sincere, truly caring and compassionate. I can't even begin to express how nice it is to have had so much support from my attorney and his team, while dealing with very difficult personal, situations, and extreme emotions that come with going through such a trying time in life. Unfortunately, I've been in the position of having way to many different hearings, while being represented by different counsel for the better part of the last 10 years of my life. It was refreshing to finally have someone representing me that was truly watching out for my best interests, legally, as well as financially, without wasting a lot of time, and money, running up huge bills with lots of unnecessary paperwork, phone calls, and unwarranted motions etc. I would gladly refer Nathan and his associates to any of my friends and family. He is truly a wonderful, caring, and honest Lawyer.
If you are looking for an attorney who will fight for you and go the extra mile, then Nathan Holtey is the attorney for you. Nathan really cares and loves what he does. He is extremely talented and makes you feel like you are his only client. He is always thinking of the best strategy for your case. His staff is very professional and everything is done in a timely manner and very efficiently. I am very happy with my outcome thanks to Nathan.
Attn'y Holtey was very very knowledgeable and was more than I bargained for in a court appointed attorney.
I was really concerned that Nate Holtey forcefully advocated to do something that was harmful to a child (a fully professional review by medical professionals had been done of the care, but Holtey apparently could not care less about the well-being of the young people whose lives he touches). Also, he refused to consult with another attorney, sloppy work indeed.
Lacking any creativity or original ideas and his office had a foul odor when I visited. I would not recommend if your life and child depend on it. And they do.
