About
Morgan E. Wilcox focuses his practice in the areas of family law (divorce, custody & visitation, father's rights, paternity, termination of parental rights, enforcement actions, etc.) and estate planning (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directive, living wills, etc.). Morgan believes that his clients should be afforded the best legal representation possible at a fair and reasonable price. As such, Morgan strives to use his experience in the legal field to assist his clients in resolving their matters as quickly and efficiently as possible, whether through settlement negotiations or litigation. Morgan graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and a Certificate in Criminology. Morgan then moved to Orange County, California to attend the Chapman University School of Law. He graduated from Chapman University with his Juris Doctor degree and although he enjoyed his time in Southern California, was eager to return to his home state of Utah to live and start his career in the legal field. During law school, Morgan received valuable legal training while assisting individuals with family law and landlord/tenant matters as a summer intern with Neighborhood Legal Service of Los Angeles County. Thereafter, Morgan further honed his legal skills in the areas of family law and estate planning while acting as a law clerk with the prestigious Southern California law firm of Masson & Fatini, LLP. After graduating from law school, and returning to Utah, Morgan joined the law firm of Lems Law Office, P.C. in Midvale, Utah. During his time at Lems Law Office, Morgan focused his legal practice on family law related legal matters and spearheaded the firm’s estate planning division. Morgan’s experience, knowledge and ability to focus on the unique circumstances of each client’s matter have assisted Morgan in providing his clients with the results and outcomes they desire along with solutions that meet their individual needs.

As my divorce is them first civil case I have ever been involved with my only frame of reference as far as dealing with divorce attorneys comes from my future ex-wife's experience and my experience with her council. They compare so well in responsiveness professionalism and cost, that Mr. Wilcox will be drafting all the closing documents. At our first meeting Morgan had researched the opposing council and gone over the petition with a fine tooth comb, provided excellent, advice and was thoroughly knowledgeable. If I had to find fault (believe I looked he is a lawyer after all) it is that he initially Mr. Wilcox would over explain a few things. As he began to understand the depth of research I had done and my more than lay person understanding of the Law he quickly adjusted and explained things at my level. He has an engaging, frank, guileless and open style of communication. His billing was itemized, precise and included a few lines such as message left for apposing council no charge. Perhaps the most important part beyond the a high level of professionalism was some sage advice on how interaction would change between my wife and I, how to handle those differences in a way that would not negatively effect the case, and a concise explanation of what I was likely to experience emotionally in the near future. If you have to hire and attorney consult with a few first, if it's a divorce attorney they seem aggressive and try to sell you on how to "get" your spouse RUN do not walk out that door. A level clear head is essential a good lawyer will tell you that Morgan is a good lawyer.
