About
MoniQue Simpson is an Arizona native. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, she moved to Tempe to attend Arizona State University after her award of the Maroon and Gold Scholarship. MoniQue was admitted to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, as well as a minor in business. MoniQue continued with her education at Arizona State University’s College of Law where she practiced as a Student Attorney for the Civil Justice Clinic and obtained an externship at the Arizona State Court of Appeals, Division One.Upon graduation, MoniQue joined the law firm Thomas, Thomas & Markson, P.C. where she was promoted to Partner. For more than nine years, MoniQue represented individuals, insurance policy holders, and companies in contested matters throughout Arizona in state and federal courts. Her practice areas include civil litigation, premises liability, and appeals. MoniQue has tried cases before juries and arbitrators. She excels at representing her clients at mediation. This encouraged her to begin volunteer work as a mediator. As a founding member of Thies, Lihn & Simpson, MoniQue will continue her litigation practice, as well as serve as a mediator for parties who desire her assistance.MoniQue not only practices law, she is a mother of a wonderful son. They enjoy spending time reading and cooking together. She also volunteers her time to the community by serving on boards and committees of various legal organizations. She is a big proponent of education, which is why she has served as a volunteer instructor of Junior Achievement and an Adjunct Professor at Mesa Community College teaching business law. MoniQue mentors aspiring and current law school students, making time to help promote diversity in the legal profession. As such, she sits as a committee member on the Maricopa County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee. Furthermore, MoniQue has prepared materials for and presented at training and annual meetings of corporations, risk management and loss prevention departments, as wells as claims handling.
